Raipur : After the end of the model code of conduct, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai initiated a series of department-wise review meetings to expedite development across the state, starting on Thursday. These meetings were held at the Chief Minister’s residence office. He began by reviewing the activities of the Agriculture Department and its allied sectors, sharing valuable insights from his extensive farming experience. The Chief Minister engaged with senior officials from various departments to assess the current status of ongoing projects and welfare schemes. He emphasised the necessity of working with full transparency and promptness to achieve good results.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai directed officials to take steps to motivate farmers to enhance their productivity. He emphasised the importance of providing timely assistance for traditional farming. He also instructed the officials to educate farmers about modern farming techniques and innovations. He highlighted the necessity of increasing the income of farmers, livestock farmers, and milk producers. Drawing from his own experiences, Shri Sai instructed the officials to take measures to prevent animal diseases during the rainy season.

He reviewed the activities of the Animal Husbandry Department, the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Dairy Federation, and the Fisheries Department. He stated that businesses such as animal husbandry, fisheries, and milk production are significant sources of income for farmers and livestock farmers. Effective implementation of related schemes would boost farmers' incomes. During the review of the Animal Husbandry Department, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced the establishment of a cow sanctuary in one district of each division in the state to protect and conserve the cow population.

Officials of the Animal Husbandry Department provided information on total livestock numbers and the annual production and availability of milk, eggs, and meat to Chief Minister Shri Sai. He emphasised the need for widespread vaccination to protect animals from infectious diseases during the rainy season. He also stressed the importance of effectively implementing schemes aimed at improving animal breeds. Additionally, he directed the officials to take measures to maximise the benefits of state and centrally-sponsored schemes for livestock farmers. The Animal Husbandry Department officials provided detailed information about their upcoming action plans and targets to the Chief Minister.

While reviewing the work of the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Dairy Federation, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised the need for measures to boost the sales of milk and milk products and to increase the income of milk-producing farmers. He directed officials to expand the number of outlets and to commission a detailed study by the Indian Institute of Management to explore additional options for enhancing the sales and income of the Devbhog brand. He also stressed the importance of adopting effective marketing and branding strategies. During the meeting, officials provided a detailed process flow chart outlining the entire journey of milk, from collection to consumer delivery.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister reviewed departmental work and schemes with officials from the Fisheries Department. He emphasised the need to widely publicise schemes for promoting fisheries and to provide information and training to rural farmers. Sharing his observations, Shri Sai stated that many government-constructed ponds become unusable as they dry up in summer. He suggested identifying such farmers and arranging for solar pumps to ensure water supply, enabling year-round fish farming. Additionally, he instructed officials to promote innovative fish production methods like cage culture and bio-floc technology and to provide training for farmers in these techniques.

During the meeting, he discussed the Balodabazar incident of vandalism and arson with the community members and reiterated Baba Guru Ghasidas's message of peace and harmony. He stressed that community members have a duty to prevent anyone from misleading others and to collectively foster an environment of peace and harmony.

Members of the Satnami community expressed that the entire community is anguished by the incident. They urged the Chief Minister to take action against those who indulged in violence and vandalism during the protests. They assured that anti-social elements were not part of their delegation and reaffirmed their commitment to establishing peace and harmony in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the Satnami community follows the revered Guru Baba Ghasidas, who spread the message of truth and non-violence and encouraged people to follow these paths. He further mentioned that the state government has announced a judicial inquiry for the incident of disrespecting Jaitkhaam. He emphasised that such occurrences on the peaceful land of Chhattisgarh are highly condemnable.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated, "You have all come from various regions of the state. It is your collective responsibility to ensure that no confusion arises and that everyone moves forward together, establishing peace. No innocent person will be punished. You organised a peaceful event to thank the government, but this incident occurred due to the interference of some anti-social elements."

Youth Hostel seats increased to 200, benefitting state's youth: Chief Minister

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the Tribal Youth Hostel located in Dwarka, New Delhi, on Saturday. He inspected the hostel's arrangements, interacted with the students, and boosted their morale. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, and Lundra MLA Shri Prabodh Minj were also present.

During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the hotel's facilities and assessed the services provided to the students. He directed the officials to pay special attention to the students' needs and promptly address any deficiencies. He stressed the importance of cleanliness, security, and the quality of food in the hostel.

Interacting with the students, Chief Minister Shri Sai states that the budget has provisioned an increase of 50 seats in the Youth Hostel for the preparation of the UPSC Civil Services Examination for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Class students, bringing the total to 200. Hostel and PG facilities will be arranged for them. This step aims to enhance the education and career prospects of the students, enabling more children from Chhattisgarh to succeed in civil services. MLA Prabodh Minj and other MLAs leave for Firozabad

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today sent a team to ensure better treatment of the injured in the road accident in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. A bus full of devotees who went on a pilgrimage from Chhattisgarh overturned on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh this morning. 40 people were injured and three died in the accident.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister has formed a team under the leadership of MLA Prabodh Minj and sent it to Lucknow from New Delhi to ensure better treatment of the injured and to coordinate with the Uttar Pradesh government. The team includes Residential Commissioner Shruti Singh along with other MLAs.

The Chief Minister said that the injured in the accident have been admitted to the District Joint Hospital Shikohabad and Firozabad Medical College for the treatment. After talking to the district administration, instructions have been given to the doctors for proper care and necessary instructions have also been given to the higher officials in this regard.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma, after being elected from Kawardha Assembly in the last assembly elections, today submitted his resignation letter to the President, District Panchayat Kabirdham. In the notice sent under Format "A" (sub-rule (1) of Rule 3 and Rule 6) it is said that I, hereby resign from the post of member of District Panchayat of District Panchayat Area No. 09, District Kabirdham, Chhattisgarh. Am. It may be known that Shri Vijay Sharma was elected from area number 09 of Kabirdham District Panchayat in the last Panchayat elections. After being elected from Kawardha Assembly in the last assembly elections, he is now the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and has the responsibility of Home and Jail, Technical Education and Employment, Science and Technology Department as well as the Ministry of Panchayat and Rural Development.

People employed in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings or businesses in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh will also get paid leave on the voting day of the home state.

Workers of first and second poly in factories working seven days a week will get 02 hours holiday each on the day of voting.

Raipur : According to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, on the scheduled voting date for the Lok Sabha elections, 2024, every worker and employee working in the factories and establishments covered under the Factories Act, 1948 and Chhattisgarh Shops and Establishments Act, 1953, will be required to register with the Government of Chhattisgarh State. The date of voting in the parliamentary constituency has been declared a paid holiday by the state government.

Voting is to be held in Chhattisgarh state parliamentary constituency Bastar on April 19, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker on April 26 and Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur on May 7.

Similarly, many voters of the neighboring state who are employed in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings or business in Chhattisgarh, such employed and working relatives have also been declared a paid holiday on the voting day of their home state. The scheduled voting date for Lok Sabha elections-2024 in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Telangana states is 13 May in Andhra Pradesh, 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June in Orissa, 19, 26 April and 07 in Maharashtra. On 13 and 20 May, in Madhya Pradesh on 19 and 26 April and 7 and 13 May, in Uttar Pradesh on 19 and 26 April and on 7, 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June, in Jharkhand on 13, 20 and 25 May and 1 June. Voting is to be held in Telangana on 13 May.

Also, in such factories which work seven days a week, the workers of the first and second poly have been declared a holiday of 02-02 hours on the day of voting by the state government and in the factories which come under continuous process, work has been done. The workers have been directed to provide the facility to vote out of turn.

Highest number of female voters in Raipur, highest voter sex ratio in Bastar

The responsibility of conducting voting should also be given to the disabled and youth.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh is one of the few states in the country where there are more women voters than men. The voter sex ratio in the state is 1015 i.e. there are one thousand fifteen female voters for every one thousand men. The highest number of women voters in the state is in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency where there are 11 lakh 69 thousand 358 women voters while the voter sex ratio is highest in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency. There are 1086 female voters out of total 1000 male voters here. Women of Chhattisgarh are playing a strong and important role not only as voters but also in election work. Similarly, the responsibility of conducting the entire election in a free, transparent and fair manner has been given to the disabled and youth polling parties.

Voting for Lok Sabha elections-2024 will be held in three phases in the state. To ensure 100 percent voting, a total of 24,229 polling stations have been set up in the state. Of these, there are 3320 polling stations where only women polling personnel will conduct the voting. All four members of the team will be women. Similarly, 90 disabled and 387 youth polling stations have been created. Similarly, 450 model polling centers are also being built in the state, where only youth polling personnel will work.

In the first phase, where elections are to be held in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, the state has the highest voter gender ratio. Here out of 14 lakh 72 thousand 207 voters, there are 7 lakh 71 thousand 679 women voters which is 52 percent of the total voters. Out of total 1961 polling stations in Bastar, 191 Sangwari polling stations have been created. At the same time, 36 youth and 08 disabled polling stations have been earmarked. The way women officers and employees have courageously decided to complete the election work in a remote and Maoist affected area like Bastar is an inspiration for other women.

Apart from women voters and polling parties in the state, a large number of women officers and employees of the state are participating in the elections. Those who have been entrusted with the responsibility of peacefully conducting the elections being held in three phases in the state are also women. Women officers and employees are participating in large numbers for the extensive preparation of the election and its successful conduct. The responsibility of successful conduct of election work in the state also rests on the shoulders of the senior woman IAS officer.

Apart from these, 13,500 women polling personnel including 01 Returning Officer and 17 Assistant Returning Officers are also included. Apart from the 3320 presiding officers in the polling team, the assistant presiding officers are fully engaged in conducting the elections smoothly in the state.

In the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, apart from the CEO, women are working with full dedication in many departments including Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, Joint Director, Deputy Director.

Most of the people working in the Media Monitoring Cell are women, while in the State Level Media Certification Committee, women officers are carrying out the election work very efficiently.

Chief Minister Shri Sai met with the members of women's associations, including members of the Chhattisgarhiya Mahila Mandal, Adivasi Mahila Mandal, and Telugu Mahila Mandal, as well as Meera Sahu, Pushpa Dhruw, Savitri Deep, Swati Rao, Santoshi Rao, and Jamuna Soni.

During the discussion, Chief Minister Shri Sai inquired about the first installment received by eligible women through DBT under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana initiated by the Chhattisgarh Government. Women shared that an amount of Rs. 1000 has been credited to their accounts. Many women expressed their happiness and showed the messages they received on their mobile phones to the Chief Minister.

During the discussion with women, Chief Minister Shri Sai inquired about the benefits being received by beneficiaries under various schemes, including LPG Cylinder Connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, pucca houses, social security pensions, and schemes for street vendors. Women mentioned that through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, their kitchens underwent a transformative change, and now they can prepare meals for their families effortlessly. They are receiving gas cylinders on time, which is helping them immensely.

During his interaction with women, Chief Minister Shri Sai inquired if there were any issues with accessing government schemes. In response, women stated that they were easily benefiting from the schemes. They also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for ensuring timely delivery of the benefits of government schemes. Chief Minister interacted with over 300 women from Durga Nagar and surrounding areas during the ‘Labharti Sampark Abhiyan’.

Chief Minister honoured the winners of the Chhattisgarh Police State Sports Competition 2024

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the concluding ceremony of the Chhattisgarh Police State Level Sports Competition 2024, held at the PTS Mana Camp in Raipur. He took the salute from the parade of police jawans and felicitated the winning participants and team. He stated that physical activities, including sports, can strengthen the body and enhance mental focus. Events like this also boost the enthusiasm of the youth. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma encouraged the participating athletes and teams.

During his address, the Chief Minister mentioned that policing is a quite challenging job. Physical fitness and mental strength are crucial for police personnel. A person’s physical and mental fitness are the prime focus areas while recruiting takes place in the police department. It is often observed that seniority in the job brings a negligent attitude towards their physical fitness. This is neither good for themselves nor for the police department. The Chief Minister stated that regular exercise is very crucial for physical fitness, and sports are an excellent means for this. He further mentioned,” Sports inculcate a sense of discipline and unity, while yoga enhances mental focus.

Fitness and focus are essential to achieving any goal”. He expressed his pleasure that sports are being encouraged in the police department. Chhattisgarh players are also performing well in the All India Police Sports Competition. The state government will provide all possible assistance to enhance the talent and skills of departmental players. The state government is committed to promoting sports throughout Chhattisgarh, including the police department. The state government will revitalise traditional sports along with popular sports at the national and international levels. For this, the state government will launch the ‘Chhattisgarhiya Krida Protsahan’ Yojana. State players will be provided with national-level sports facilities and training opportunities.

The Chief Minister stated that after the implementation of new laws in the country, citizens are expecting a new approach to policing. The system of policing, which has been ongoing since the British era, is now changing. Every police officer should prepare themselves according to these changes. Every police officer should act like a friend to the people and instill fear of the law in the minds of criminals.

The Chief Minister stated that for the security and development of the people, the state government has established 20 security camps in Bastar after assuming office. Every police personnel should work to develop a security camp as a development camp for the residents.

At the event, Sushri Ishwari Sahu, the Best Athletics Female, showcased the remarkable talent and secured 2 Gold Medals in the javelin throw and 1 Bronze Medal in Shot Put. Furthermore, the Bastar Range was awarded under the category of Overall Champion, bagging an impressive total of 17 Gold, 10 Silver, and 9 Bronze Medals, totaling 36 medals and accumulating 80 points. Notably, Inspector Shri Amber Singh Bharadwaj, who represented India in the World Police and Fire Games 2023, secured 1 Gold Medal in the Karate competition at Chhattisgarh Police State Sports Competition 2024. Additionally, the police department showcased various shows, including a Pipe Band Display, Police Dog and Horse Show, as well as demonstrations of fencing and Malkhamb, all conducted by the dedicated personnel of the police department.
