Bilaspur.  A very sensitive and shocking case has emerged from Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh. The wife of a deceased person has been accused of stealing ashes from a crematorium. The incident reportedly took place at the Bharatiya Nagar crematorium in the Civil Lines police station area. The incident has not only hurt the deceased's family but has also created an atmosphere of shock in the area.

A sensational case of bone theft has come to light from the Indian town of Muktidham in Bilaspur, the judicial capital of Chhattisgarh. After the cremation of a deceased person, his ashes were kept safely in a container at the Muktidham.

The next day, when the family arrived at the crematorium to prepare for the immersion of the ashes, they found the vessel empty. This horrified the family, and an atmosphere of grief and anger descended upon the entire family.

During the investigation, footage from CCTV cameras installed at the crematorium emerged. In the footage, two women are seen carrying an urn containing ashes. Recognizing this, the deceased's family members have leveled serious allegations against the deceased's wife. They say the wife had been living separately for a long time and there was a family dispute between the two parties.

The family, shocked by the incident, arrived at the Civil Lines police station with the empty urn containing the ashes and filed a written complaint. They described the incident as an insult to their religious sentiments and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

The Civil Lines police station has registered a case and begun investigation. According to the police, the women are being identified based on CCTV footage and the entire case will be solved soon.

Currently, the theft of bones from the Muktidham has become a topic of discussion throughout the area. People are calling it a very shameful incident.

Municipal Corporation Korba has to construct culvert and drain from Ward No. 34 Dadar Road Culvert to Manikpur Muktidham at a cost of Rs. 1 crore 84 lakhs. Similarly, under Pt. Ravishankar Shukla Zone, kitchen sheds are to be constructed in 6 government schools at a cost of Rs. 36 lakhs and boys and girls toilets are to be constructed in 12 government schools at a cost of Rs. 60 lakhs. Similarly, the corporation has to construct road in Ward No. 33 Manikpur Diparapara at a cost of Rs. 25 lakhs and under Ward No. 26, construction work of internal lanes of Krishna Nagar from Vinay Singh Ghar to in front of Jaitkhabh and from Dadar Main Road to Culvert near Kumhar Ghar at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs is to be done.

Raipur . Several important decisions related to the state's interests were taken at a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday at the Chief Minister's residence office in Civil Lines, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. The meeting approved the proposal for the Chhattisgarh Excise Policy for the financial year 2026-27, and authorized the department to undertake all related related proceedings.

The Council of Ministers also approved the allotment of approximately 40 acres of land in Sector 18 to Vile Parle Kalavani Mandal (SVKM) on a 90-year lease for the establishment of a high-quality educational institution in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies will be established on this land. SVKM, which has been engaged in education since 1934, currently operates 30 educational institutions across the country, where over 100,000 students are annually receiving education from pre-primary to doctoral programs. The institution has been ranked 52nd in the NIRF University Rankings for the year 2025. The establishment of this institute in Naya Raipur will give new strength to modern and quality education in the state.

The meeting also decided to sign an MoU with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to establish four new entrepreneurship centers in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. This initiative will boost the IT and ITES industry and technology start-up ecosystem in the state. STPI currently operates 68 centers across the country, 60 of which are located in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

In collaboration with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Chhattisgarh, STPI will promote 133 domain-specific start-ups over the next three to five years in areas such as AI, MedTech (herbal medicine and forest products based), Smart Cities, and Smart Agriculture. Additionally, an Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) Centre will be established in the state, which will provide necessary technical support, including prototype development, to 30 to 40 hardware start-ups and MSMEs annually.

The Cabinet also made important decisions to ensure quality testing facilities in all government health institutions across the state. Effective operational systems will be implemented to strengthen lab facilities in district hospitals, community health centers, and primary health centers, optimize resource utilization, and increase testing according to established standards.

Chhattisgarh: Rail passengers are in for a tough time once again. According to the latest Chhattisgarh train cancellation information, the Railways has decided to cancel a total of 14 trains passing through the state. This decision was made due to the work of connecting the third and fourth lines on the Rajnandgaon-Nagpur rail section. In this sequence, non-interlocking work will be carried out at the Tumsar Road yard, which will run from January 24 to January 31, 2026.

According to railway officials, 14 MEMU and passenger trains will be completely cancelled due to this technical work. Additionally, some local trains will terminate mid-way, while two trains will depart late. This will cause significant inconvenience, especially to daily commuters, working professionals, and students.

Several passenger and MEMU trains, such as Tumsar Road–Tirodi, Tirodi–Tumsar Road, Itwari–Tirodi, Balaghat–Itwari–Tirodi, and Itwari–Balaghat, will be cancelled between January 24 and 31, 2026. Meanwhile, MEMU services on the Durg–Gondia, Gondia–Durg, Dongargarh–Gondia, and Itwari–Gondia routes will also be affected between January 28 and 31.

The Railways has urged passengers to check train status before traveling and plan for alternative means of transportation. However, this temporary inconvenience is being considered necessary for improved rail connectivity in the future. Chhattisgarh: The cold has once again forced people to shiver. According to the CG Weather Update, the effects of the cold are clearly felt in many parts of the state during the morning and evening hours. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the minimum temperature may slightly drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next three days. However, there is a possibility of a further increase in temperatures after this drop.

The weather remained dry in the state over the past 24 hours. During this time, a cold wave was felt in some areas of Raipur and Durg divisions, increasing the chill. The effects of the cold are particularly felt in open areas and rural areas. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain vigilant, especially the elderly and children, and to take precautions against the cold.

Regarding temperature, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded in Jagdalpur at 32.4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Ambikapur at 5.6 degrees Celsius, reflecting the increasing impact of the cold. These figures clearly indicate that the winter is more severe in northern and central Chhattisgarh.

According to the Meteorological Department, minimum temperatures will remain relatively stable over the next 24 hours. After this, a slight decrease is possible for the next three days. After this, temperatures may rise again. Overall, the CG Weather Update indicates that relief from the cold will take some time, so people need to exercise caution.

While reviewing the purchase of paddy at the support price in the meeting, he said that all basic facilities should be made available to the farmers in the paddy purchasing centers. Special care should be taken that the farmers do not face any problem in selling paddy. He also gave instructions for better implementation of Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Bill Yojana, quality construction of roads and completion within the time limit and for the health staff to ensure all necessary arrangements in the hospitals.

Expressing his pleasure at the students' achievements, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that these results are the result of Arunodaya Coaching Institute's robust educational plan, dedicated faculty, and administrative support. In light of the success of the Nalanda campus, the state government is constructing high-tech libraries at 34 locations across the state. The Chief Minister said that modern library facilities are also being provided for students in Surajpur, which will benefit local youth.

Chief Minister Mr. Sai stated that the state government is working tirelessly to make the PSC examination transparent, fair, and credible, similar to the UPSC. He categorically stated that anyone found involved in corruption will not be spared and strict action will be taken against them.

Raipur - Severe cold has once again begun to trouble people in several districts of Chhattisgarh, including the capital Raipur. After two days of slight relief, temperatures have again dropped. In many areas of the state, the minimum temperature has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. The cold has intensified in the capital Raipur since Saturday night.

The Meteorological Department has predicted a cold wave in the state for the next two days, raising concerns among the public. Temperatures typically rise after Makar Sankranti, but this time the weather seems to be changing. The steadily falling temperatures have increased difficulties for farmers, laborers, and the elderly.

The Chhattisgarh Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave and severe cold alert in more than 10 districts, including Raipur and Bilaspur. The districts where the warning has been issued include Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Ambikapur, Korea, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Balrampur, Jashpur, Surguja, and Dantewada.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in these areas may drop further due to the cold wave. People have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against the cold.

Raipur . The process of organizational change has accelerated in the Chhattisgarh Congress under the Srijan program, but the new list of block presidents has given rise to dissatisfaction within the party. In some places, questions are being raised from the district level to the worker level regarding the reappointment of old faces and the disregard of local equations.

Following the appointment of district presidents, the Congress has also released the list of block presidents. However, as soon as the list was released, signs of disagreement and resentment have started appearing in many districts. Surajpur District President Shashi Singh has written a letter to State Congress President Deepak Baij and registered his objection, while in other districts, dissatisfaction has become a topic of discussion among senior leaders and workers.According to party sources, this list of block presidents was released after the approval of Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot. Therefore, the possibility of changes is considered very low, and party workers are refraining from openly commenting.Surajpur District President Shashi Singh recently assumed office in the presence of Deepak Baij and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Shortly thereafter, he wrote a letter expressing his displeasure that his opinion or consent was not sought in the appointment of block presidents. Party leaders say this isn't specific to one district; feedback from several districts is unsatisfactory.

Dissatisfaction is highest in Bilaspur.
Political temperatures are high in Bilaspur district over the list of block presidents. It was claimed that the list was prepared based on observers' reports, but discrepancies are still emerging. Local workers are unhappy with the appointment of Rajendra Dhiwar for the third time in the Sipat block. They say that instead of repeatedly appointing the same person, new leadership should have been given the opportunity.

However, there is no opposition to all appointments. In Masturi, no dissent has been raised so far regarding the appointment of Sarpanch Bhola Sahu as block president.

Allegations of prioritization for the former MLA's family
are also being raised about the appointment of Geetanjali Kaushik, a member of former MLA Siyaram Kaushik's family, as block president in Bilha block. Activists say that only one woman was appointed block president in the district, and even then, preference was given to the MLA's family. They argue that if active women in the organization had been promoted, the Mahila Congress could have strengthened.

Questions have also been raised
about caste balance. An imbalance in caste equations has also emerged in the appointment of block presidents. In both Masturi and Bilha blocks, OBCs have been given responsibility, while in urban and rural Bilaspur, Takhatpur, and Kota, five block presidents have been appointed from the general category. Nowhere in the district has a block president from the Scheduled Caste category been appointed, and only in Belgahna has a leader from the Scheduled Tribe category been given the opportunity. allege that local equations have been ignored.
Local leaders say that not consulting the district presidents' opinions could have repercussions on future organizational functioning. For example, in Juna Bilaspur, considered an area of ​​influence for the Sangh, traditionally Brahmin leadership has been established, but this time a Muslim leader has been appointed block president. Jashpur - A passenger bus traveling from Mati Pahar Chharra to Jashpur lost control and overturned near Baghmara between Akira and Tapkara on Sunday. All of the bus's wheels were uprooted in the accident. Around 35 to 40 passengers were on board at the time. Fortunately, no passengers were seriously injured, averting a major tragedy.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was traveling at a high speed. Suddenly, a dog appeared on the road. The driver tried to save the dog, causing the bus to lose balance and overturn. The accident caused widespread panic and panic among the passengers.

Approximately 119,000 candidates are participating in the first shift (for teaching in primary classes) and approximately 205,000 candidates are participating in the second shift (for teaching in secondary classes). Although the examination is being conducted in 20 districts, candidates from all 33 districts of the state are participating. The district-wise number of candidates and examination centers is as per the attached list. In the interest of all the candidates of all the districts, the following instructions issued for them should be widely publicized. The candidates must inspect their examination centre one day before the examination so that they do not face any inconvenience on the examination day.

 Candidates should reach the examination centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the examination so that they can be frisked and verified with their original photo identity card.

The main gate of the examination center will be closed 30 minutes before the start of the examination. Since the first shift begins at 9:30 a.m., the main gate will be closed at 9:00 a.m. Since the second shift begins at 3:00 p.m., the main gate will be closed at 2:30 p.m.

Wear light-colored, half-sleeved clothing. Black, dark blue, dark green, purple, ochre, violet, or dark chocolate are prohibited.

Only simple sweaters (without pockets) are permitted. Sweaters must be removed and checked by a security guard during security checks. Light-colored sweaters and half-sleeved sweaters are not permitted.

Candidates wearing religious and cultural attire will have to report at the examination centre before the usual time and will be allowed to wear such attire only after undergoing additional security check.

 Wear slippers as footwear.

 Any kind of jewellery in the ears is prohibited.

 It is strictly prohibited to carry any kind of communication device, electronic device, electronic pad, purse, pouch, scarf, belt, cap etc. in the examination hall.

Strict action will be taken against those found using unfair means in the examination and their candidature will be cancelled.

 Candidates should bring only black or blue ball pointers to the examination centre.

Raipur. The Raipur Municipal Corporation has taken a major decision to improve the city's beauty and traffic system in the capital. Under the leadership of Mayor Meenal Choubey and the guidance of Manoj Verma, Chairman of the Urban Planning and Building Permit Department, six major roads in the municipal corporation area have been declared no-flex zones. Only government advertisements will be permitted on these roads.

Following instructions from the flying squad of the Municipal Investment Department at the Municipal Corporation headquarters, No Flex Zone information boards have been installed along the relevant routes, in accordance with a resolution of the Mayor in Council (MIC). This decision was made at the MIC's recent meeting.

The routes declared as no flex zone include the main routes from Tatibandh Chowk to Telibandha Thana Chowk via Jaistambh Chowk under GE Road, from Pachpedinaaka Chowk to Lalpur Overbridge, from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk via Chhattisgarh Club to Canal Linking Road Traffic Signal and Civil Line Road, from NIT Raipur to Raipura Chowk via Gol Chowk, from Jaistambh Chowk to Bijli Office Chowk via City Kotwali Chowk and from Mahila Thana Chowk to Budheshwar Mandir Chowk.

Mayor Meenal Choubey, Chairman Manoj Verma and Commissioner Vishwadeep have directed the Urban Investment Department, Flying Squad, Zone Commissioner and Engineers to ensure strict adherence to the no-flex zone on these routes and ensure continuous monitoring every day.

Bijapur . Security forces have achieved a major success in the encounter between security forces and Maoists in the inaccessible National Park area of ​​Bijapur district on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. A total of four Maoists, including National Park Area Committee Chief Dilip Vendja and a female Naxalite, were killed in this encounter. The operation was carried out under a joint operation of DRG jawans and other security forces.

According to information, intelligence agencies had received information that a large number of Maoists along with notorious Naxalite leader Papa Rao were present in the National Park area. Upon receiving the input, a joint team of DRG and security forces started a search operation. The Naxalites, who were already lying in ambush, suddenly started firing on the security forces, after which an encounter started from both sides.The Naxalites suffered heavy losses in the security forces' retaliatory action and fled the scene. Following the encounter, an intensive search operation was launched in the area, recovering the bodies of four Naxalites. National Park Area Committee Chief Dilip Vendja has been identified among the deceased, while the identities of the other Naxalites are being ascertained. The location of the encounter is considered to be

within
the influence of the dreaded Naxalite, Papa Rao. He is in charge of the National Park area and is said to be the sole member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee. Had Papa Rao been killed in this operation, it would have dealt a significant blow to the Naxalite network in the National Park region.

Along with the bodies of the Naxalites, two AK-47 rifles, other weapons, and Naxalite material were recovered from the encounter site. Currently, a search operation is underway in the area, and security forces are closely monitoring the situation.

Bilaspur. The orthopedic department of SIMS Hospital has achieved a significant milestone by successfully operating on a 5-year-old child with a rare congenital kneecap disorder. This codition, medically known as habitual patella dislocation, occurs in only 5 to 6 children out of approximately 100,000.

Gulshan Sahu, a resident of Lormi, was brought to the orthopedic outpatient department of SIMS Hospital due to severe mobility issues. The child's kneecap frequently dislocated while walking, making it difficult to perform daily activities. Dr. Sanjay Ghille, assistant professor in the orthopedic department, examined him. X-rays and an MRI confirmed the child's rare congenital malformation.

According to Dr. Ghille, in this condition, the muscles controlling the kneecap are overly tight on one side and loose on the other, causing the patella to remain unstable. Given the severity of the case, Dr. A.R. Ben, Head of the Orthopedic Department, was informed, and a successful surgery was performed on December 29th.

The operation utilized modern techniques, including VMO plasty and quadriceps Z-lengthening. The entire surgery was performed free of charge under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing financial relief to the family. Following the operation, the child's kneecap has stabilized, and he is now able to walk normally.
