Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday, extended his congratulations on the Prime Minister's remarkable 23 years of public service at helm of a government.

Shri Modi has been Prime Minister of India since 2014, he was previously the Chief Minister of Gujarat during 2001-14.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai highlighted that October 7, 2001, marked the day Prime Minister Modi took his oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat, celebrating 23 years of his leadership. He informed the Prime Minister about the rapid implementation of initiatives in Chhattisgarh based on Modi's vision, as well as public interest schemes facilitated by the state’s dedicated government.

Additionally, Chief Minister Sai shared details about the recent meeting of Naxal-affected states chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which included Chief Ministers and DGPs from these regions. He noted that a comprehensive review was conducted and emphasized that in the last nine months, sustained actions against Naxalite terrorism have been effective.

During this period, security forces engaged in numerous encounters, resulting in the elimination of 194 Naxalites. “Our security forces are demonstrating remarkable bravery, and we salute their courage,” said the Chief Minister. He reported that 801 Naxalites have been arrested and 742 have surrendered within the same timeframe.

Chief Minister Sai also mentioned efforts to improve rehabilitation for those surrendering. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma has traveled to various states to enhance the rehabilitation policy, including a recent visit to Assam. “We strive to offer the best facilities to those who choose to abandon violence and integrate into society,” he stated.

Recently, during a visit to Bijapur, the Chief Minister handed appointment letters to 70 individuals from Naxal-affected families. He reiterated the government's commitment to supporting these families and facilitating their reintegration. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Chief Minister’s media advisor Shri Pankaj Jha were also present during the discussions.

Meeting of Chief Ministers of Naxal-Affected States Held

Raipur : A crucial meeting focused on the ongoing operations against Naxalism in Naxal-affected states was convened today at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The meeting was presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Chief Ministers of other Naxal-affected states in attendance.

The primary focus of the meeting was the recently concluded successful anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh, during which 31 Naxals were neutralized by the state police. The efficient strategies of the Chhattisgarh Police and the effectiveness of the state government’s policies were specifically discussed during the meeting. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri J.P. Nadda, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai, and Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were also present on this occasion.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the efforts of Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and his team in the operation. He stated that from January to date, security forces in Chhattisgarh have eliminated nearly 194 Naxals in encounters. Furthermore, 801 Naxals have been apprehended, and 742 Naxals have surrendered. He appealed to the youth still engaged in Naxalism to shun violence and join the mainstream. “All states have devised effective rehabilitation schemes for you; take advantage of these initiatives,” he added.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai provided a detailed briefing on the Naxal operation during the meeting. He explained how the state police and intelligence agencies executed the operation after months of planning and diligent efforts. Around 1,000 personnel were involved in the mission, which encircled the Gawadi hill, spanning a 15-kilometer radius, resulting in the elimination of 31 Naxals. Several high-ranking Naxal leaders were neutralized in this operation, 16 of whom carried a collective bounty of Rs 1.30 crore. Of the neutralized Naxals, 18 were male, and 13 were female.

In his presentation, the Chief Minister highlighted how the state’s police force executed the operation based on precise intelligence inputs. Chief Minister not only focused on the operation’s success but also elaborated on the development initiatives underway in the state. He stated, “The pace of development works in Naxal-affected regions has been accelerated. We are consistently extending basic amenities to villages, with special emphasis on education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.” Shri Sai emphasized that the persistent guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has enabled the state to break the backbone of Maoists. “We have established 32 new security camps in areas they once referred to as their ‘capital’. A camp has been set up in the village of Hidma, the Battalion Commander of their forces, and healthcare facilities have been provided to his mother as well.”

Future Plans and Strategic Goals Outlined

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also discussed Chhattisgarh’s future strategies. He stated that the primary goal of the state government is to eliminate the remaining Naxal strongholds and establish lasting peace and development in these areas. In the near future, 29 new security camps will be established in South Bastar to eradicate the influence of Naxals.

Union Home Minister assures of extending total support

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while commending the successful operation in Chhattisgarh, urged the Chief Ministers of other states to adopt Chhattisgarh’s model of intelligence, technology, and inter-agency coordination in their respective operations. The Home Minister further affirmed that the Central Government is committed to providing every possible assistance to Chhattisgarh and other Naxal-affected states and will extend full support to expedite developmental works in these regions.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a grand military exhibition at Science College Ground on October 5. He was warmly welcomed by the Indian Army, who presented him with a jacket in their unique tradition. Shri Sai expressed his excitement as he witnessed the remarkable skills of the armed forces and lauded their capabilities. Responding to the overwhelming public enthusiasm, the Chief Minister announced that the two-day exhibition would be extended by an additional day, now conducted from October 5 to 7. The visiting hours for the exhibition are from 8 am to 10 am and 6 pm to 8 pm daily.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai shared his pride in witnessing the strength, valour, and expertise of India’s brave soldiers. He remarked that seeing even one soldier in uniform is enough to spark patriotism in people’s hearts. He emphasised that the Indian Army is renowned globally for its discipline and efficiency and is regarded as one of the strongest militaries in the world.

Shri Sai also highlighted the army's pivotal role not only in defending the country from external threats but also in maintaining internal security and providing vital assistance during natural disasters. The exhibition features cutting-edge military equipment, including the Bhishma T-90 tank, BMP, L-70, and other advanced weaponry used by the armed forces. Visitors can also enjoy thrilling displays such as para jumping, Khukuri dancing, daredevil motorcycling, and horse riding.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction with the large turnout of young people and families at the exhibition. He encouraged the youth to consider careers in the armed forces, emphasising the Agnipath scheme as a crucial opportunity for aspiring soldiers. Shri Sai also praised the security forces for their recent success against Naxalism in the Abujhmad area of Bastar, where 31 Naxalites were eliminated. Over the last nine months, security forces have achieved significant milestones, neutralising 191 Naxalites. He noted the growing involvement of local youth in Bastar who are joining security forces to fight Naxalism, reflecting a changing landscape in the region.

During the event, Brigadier Shri Aman Anand briefed the Chief Minister on the various tanks and weapons displayed at the exhibition, including a detailed inspection of the T-90 Bhishma tank, one of the main attractions. Shri Sai learned about its capabilities and features with great interest.

The exhibition also showcased modern and heritage military equipment, including advanced drones, rifles, and other weaponry used by the Indian Army in past and present conflicts. Additionally, stalls provided information about support schemes for ex-servicemen, the Agnipath scheme, and Chhattisgarh herbals. In his address to the gathering, Chief Minister said that Jal-Jagar Mahotsav is an exemplary initiative of Dhamtari District Administration for water and environmental conservation. Dhamtari district, which was witnessing a significant depletion of its groundwater levels, has experienced a positive and revolutionary transformation due to the Jal-Jagar initiative, making the district administration worthy of commendation.

During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai invoked the local deities and extended his best wishes for Navratri to the people. He further said that no goal is unachievable, if one is determined enough. Presiding over the event, the state’s Parliamentary Affairs, Forest & Climate Change, Water Resources, Skill Development, and Cooperation Minister, Shri Kedar Kashyap, lauded the district administration's proactive approach in water conservation, stating that the initiative should not only be followed by Dhamtari but serve as a model for the entire state and nation. “Through Jal-Jagar, we can bequeath a precious legacy to the coming generations,” he added.

Addressing the gathering as a distinguished guest, the state’s Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Revenue and Disaster Management, and in-charge of the district, Shri Tankram Verma, emphasized the critical importance of water conservation in today’s context. He noted that the Prime Minister, through the Jal Jeevan Mission, has conveyed a strong message by ensuring water supply to every household. He urged everyone to understand the value and significance of water. He also illustrated the importance of water through a Chhattisgarhi song, leaving a strong impression on the audience.

Former Cabinet Minister and Kurud MLA, Shri Ajay Chandrakar, highlighted the innovative nature of the initiative, expressing concern over the declining groundwater levels in Dhamtari despite the presence of four major reservoirs. “The community’s participation in water conservation is commendable, and this should be transformed into a mass movement,” he added.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid foundation for a total of 49 development projects worth Rs 87 crore 25 lakh 77 thousand in Dhamtari district at the inauguration ceremony of Jal Jagaar Mahotsav held at Pandit Ravishankar Reservoir, Gangrel on October 5. These include the inauguration of 33 works worth Rs 65 crore 84 lakh 91 thousand and the foundation laying of 16 works worth Rs 21 crore 40 lakh 86 thousand.

The inaugurated projects include four works under Dhamtari Municipal Corporation amounting to Rs 30 crore 94 lakh 49 thousand, four projects under Public Works Department valued at Rs 26 crore 39 lakh 33 thousand, two projects under the Electricity Department worth Rs 4 crore 20 lakh 8 thousand, six projects under the Health Department costing Rs 1 crore 52 lakh 73 thousand, nine projects under the Janpad Panchayat Nagri worth Rs 1 crore 39 lakh 88 thousand, five projects under the Rural Engineering Services Division costing Rs 1 crore 13 lakh 40 thousand, and three projects under the Janpad Panchayat Dhamtari with a total expenditure of Rs 25 lakh.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Shri Sai performed foundation laying ceremony for 16 projects worth Rs 21 crore 40 lakh 86 thousand. These include two projects worth Rs 7 crore 41 lakh 96 thousand under Public Works Department, three projects under Dhamtari Municipal Corporation valued at Rs 6 crore 37 lakh 14 thousand, two projects under Water Resources Division Dhamtari Code 90 costing Rs 4 crore 40 lakh 62 thousand,

Raipur : During his visit to Dantewada on Friday, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai awarded the certificate of 'Completely Organic Village' to the villages Masenar and Pahurnar, located in the Dantewada and Geedam development blocks, respectively. In Dantewada, organic farming is being practiced by 10,264 farmers across the largest area in the country—65,279 hectares—spread over 110 villages that have been certified as organic by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, under the large area certification programme.

Currently, a comprehensive action plan is being developed by the district administration in collaboration with various departments to transform Dantewada into an organic hub aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of farmers. This includes a detailed action plan for large-scale training in organic farming, promotion, educational tours, irrigation and infrastructure development, market linkages and more. The use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is completely banned in the district. To further promote organic farming, 'Krishak Khet Pathshaala' sessions are being organized in three phases across all 220 villages in the district. Over 300 local progressive farmers have been trained outside the state and are now prepared as organic workers and master trainers.

In this Kharif season, green manure has been applied over 1,200 hectares, and the SRI method of cultivation has been implemented on more than 800 hectares. Soil Health Cards are being provided to all 23,000 farmers in the district. During this event, progressive farmer Shri Bosa Ram Atami from village Kasauli presented high-quality guavas, while Shri Kamal Singh Nag offered a basket of special rice produced through organic methods to Chief Minister Shri Sai.

During this programme, under the aegis of the district administration and the 'Niyad Nella Naar Yojana', the Chief Minister provided two buses to the Gram Panchayats of Cherpal and Gongpal to initiate bus services. These services will be operated by the Seva Mahila Self-Help Group. Besides, the administration will provide six more buses to facilitate transportation in remote villages. On this occasion, two youths trained at the Livelihood College—Anil from village Dhurli and Gaurish from village Gamawada—were also given four-wheelers for taxi operations.

Under the 'Pehchaan Dantewada' innovation programme of the district administration, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai provided essential documents, including a ration card, Aadhaar card, Ayushman card, and caste and residence certificates, to six-month-old Dheeraj Nag from village Balpet. The 'Pehchaan Dantewada' app enables the district administration, in collaboration with the Health, Revenue, and Women and Child Development departments, to deliver all necessary basic documents to the parents of newborns within four months of birth. This initiative ensures that children have access to their documents from birth through their upbringing, relieving parents of the hassle of visiting government offices to obtain these certificates.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced an increase in the number of beds up to 200 from 100 in Bijapur District Hospital.

A bonus amounting to Rs 14.9 crore was distributed to Tendu leaf collectors.

Inauguration and foundation stone laying of development projects worth over Rs 263.66 crore took place in Bijapur district.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai made several significant announcements aimed at the region's development, including increasing the number of beds in Bijapur District Hospital from 100 to 200.

He also handed over government appointment orders to 70 dependents of Naxal-affected families under the Naxal Rehabilitation Policy and distributed a bonus of Rs 14.9 crore to over 19,000 Tendu leaf collectors.

During the event held at the mini stadium of Bijapur district headquarters, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for 209 development projects worth over Rs 263.66 crore. This includes Bhoomi Pujan for 145 projects valued at Rs 228.53 crore as well as the inauguration of 64 projects costing Rs 35.13 crore.

Shri Sai also announced the establishment of a nursing college in Bijapur, a 132 kV electric substation in Bhopalpatnam, the opening of 33 new schools, a central library and the connection of specialist doctors to the National Health Mission. He directed the collector to make arrangements for Prayas Residential School and coaching for competitive examinations.

In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the acceleration of development work in the Bastar region, stating that the benefits of both Central and State Government schemes are being extended to areas affected by Maoist violence through the Niyyad Nellnar Yojana. He highlighted Chhattisgarh's rich natural, mineral, and forest resources, commending the energetic residents for their vital role in the state's development. The program also featured remarks from Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Forest Minister and Bijapur In-charge Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and Bastar Lok Sabha MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap.

The Chief Minister distributed Graha Pravesh (key distribution) and housing acceptance letters under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), along with the Tendu Patta Bonus, funds under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Kisan Credit Cards, certificates to Niyyad Nellnar beneficiaries who completed sewing training, and materials to Self Help Groups. He also distributed income and caste-residence certificates and sports equipment to youth.

Shri Sai inspected departmental stalls at the venue and distributed materials to beneficiaries of various schemes, including Forest Rights Certificates, Vishwakarma Yojana Certificates, and e-rickshaws. Chhattisgarh is making significant strides in addressing climate change.

Raipur : Underlining the global challenge of climate change, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the environmental crisis and climate change have become urgent national concerns. In recent years, climate change has emerged as the greatest challenge facing the world. He emphasized the need for collective participation to tackle this issue.

Chief Minister was addressing the launch program of the first edition of Chhattisgarh Green Summit organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur on Thursday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a synopsis based on environmental research.

Highlighting the effects of global warming, Chief Minister said that this the summers had broken all previous records, temperatures across the country reached unprecedented levels, with the capital, Delhi, hitting a scorching 52.3 degrees. Climate change has knocked not only in India but all over the world. Due to excessive rain in a desert area like Dubai, the entire city was hit by floods. Amidst challenge of climate change, Indian had represented the challenge and warned effects of global warming in global summits under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Expressing his concern to conserve Chhattisgarh’s flora and fauna, Chief Minister said, “State’s 44 percent of land area is forested and we are dedicatedly working to Conserve it. We have completed the target of planting 4 crore trees as per the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.”

Recently, state government have taken the initiative to make Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla a tiger reserve. Through this, there will be a big help in the conservation of wildlife and promotion of the environment and it will be the third largest tiger reserve in the country. He said that we are also continuously working towards renewable energy in the state, he added.

India is producing 200 gigawatt renewable energy and there is a plan to increase it to 500 GW by the year 2030, the state will also participate in achieving this target.

Chhattisgarh has initiated several programs to deal with climate change. “To promote tree plantation, we are implementing Kisan Vriksha Mitra Yojana, Green Credit Yojana. We have started the ‘Peepal for People’ campaign in Nava Raipur, under which thousands of Peepal trees have been planted”, said Chief Minister.

Shri Sai expressed hope that by organizing such conferences, work will move forward rapidly in the direction of environmental protection and with the help of subject experts, we will be successful in achieving the goal of clean environment.

While addressing the program, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, said, “In age of modernization, the civilizations have detached from nature, hence, we need to adopt measures to conserve it. The state government is dedicated to promote environmental protection through various programs.”

All India Convenor of Pragya Pravah Mr J Nandkumar said that Indian culture has been called Aranyak culture. The ideal form of Indian culture is seen in the life of forest dwellers. Many beautiful examples of the relationship between nature and man are seen in our folk life and folk traditions. He said that in the coming years, the motto of Green Summit should be to live together i.e. co-exist.

National Coordinator of Environment Conservation Activity Mr Gopal Arya said that Chhattisgarh Green Summit will play an important role for the rich biodiversity of Chhattisgarh and awareness towards the environment.

Raipur : In the virtual participation on the occasion of the launch of Dharti Aabha Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that it was Mahatma Gandhi's dream that the tribal community should join the mainstream of development and progress. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan for the upliftment of tribal areas and tribes of the country from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

Chief Minister Shri Sai virtually participated from Rajpur in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh on the nationwide launch of the campaign and said that the tribal community of Chhattisgarh will also benefit from this and there will be a new change in their lives.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that by making provision of Rs 80,000 crore through Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, measures have been taken for the welfare of more than 65000 villages and more than 5 crore tribal people. This will benefit a population of 47 lakh living in 6691 villages located in 138 development blocks of 32 districts of Chhattisgarh. Hence, it is a day of pride for Chhattisgarh and Jashpur district that the Prime Minister has invited tribal woman Mankunwar Bai of Bagicha block of Jashpur district to his program for discussion.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Prime Minister announced Swachh Bharat Mission on 15 August 2014 and got toilets constructed in every house. He linked it with the respect and dignity of women. These toilets are known as Izzat Ghar in many states. He said that the former Prime Minister of the country, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee created a separate state for the development of tribal society and formed a separate Tribal Ministry and Scheduled Tribe Commission.

Chief Minister Shri Sai remained associated with the campaign from 17 September to 2 October through the 'Hum Sab Swachhata Hi Seva' fortnight. He appealed to the people to make cleanliness a habit and said that we should also keep the environment around us clean. He said that the Prime Minister was concerned about the extremely backward and special backward tribes and through the Prime Minister Janman Yojana, people are being benefited with basic facilities like roads, electricity, water, health, education and other welfare schemes in tribal areas.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government started working for the welfare of the poor of the state from the very next day of taking oath. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 18 lakh houses were approved, the amount of which has now started coming into the accounts of the beneficiaries and house construction has started. He said that our government purchased 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3100 per quintal, the amount of outstanding bonus of paddy for two years, increased the price of Tendu leaves per standard sack from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500. Money is being given to the accounts of 70 lakh women of the state under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Important work has been done in the direction of Modi's guarantee within the last 9 months.

MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj said in his address that here the Chief Minister is working for the upliftment of the tribal society as well as the special backward tribal society under the PM Janman Yojana. The government is taking positive steps for the upliftment of the tribes. Samari MLA Smt. Uddeshwari Paikara also addressed the program. During this, the district in-charge and Women and Child Development Department Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MLA Shri Prabodh Minj, Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Smt. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the inauguration of ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ in Rajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. He dedicated 108 development projects worth Rs 192.60 crore to the Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. He inaugurated 5 development projects worth Rs 97.57 lakh and carried out the bhumipoojan for 103 development projects worth Rs 191.63 crore.

The Chief Minister initiated various projects, including the strengthening of major roads in the district, construction of new buildings for Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Nawapara and Wadrafnagar, construction of new school and hostel buildings, additional rooms in residential ashrams, renovation of water bodies, construction of Anganwadi buildings, and upgrading of the Balrampur Tameshwar Nagar airstrip.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the exhibition organized by the Khadi and Village Industries Department on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium premises in Raipur on Wednesday. During his visit, he demonstrated his skill on the potter's wheel by making a clay bowl and also purchased a Kosa saree with tattoo art, crafted by local weavers. On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, several activities were organized at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, including an exhibition by the Khadi and Village Industries Department, marking the conclusion of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada'.

Chief Minister also underwent a TB test using AI technology and received his report within two minutes, which indicated normal results. He commended the district administration for this innovative initiative and encouraged more people to get tested for TB to help in its effective prevention.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited various stalls set up at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium premises during the conclusion of Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada 2024. While inspecting the Raipur Municipal Corporation stalls, he inquired about the plastic-free sanitary napkins produced by the women of the Mouli Mata Self-Help Group. He also presented sanitary napkins to the 'Swachhata Didis’. The women of the Samridhi Mahila Self-Help Group also presented the Chief Minister with Dashang, incense sticks and decorated diyas made from flowers offered in temples. Chief Minister praised their work and wished them continued success.

Shri Sai also visited the stalls of the Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board, Chhattisgarh Handicraft Development Board, Chhattisgarh Matikala Board, and the Silk Department. He purchased a silk saree featuring tattoo art, crafted by Shri Devanand Dewangan of Bilaigarh, who had received the Sant Bisahu Das Mahant State Award. Chief Minister also tried his hand at the electric chalk, creating a clay bowl, and presented five electric chalks to clay craftsmen. At the Handloom Division stall, Shri Gajanand Dewangan from Seoni presented a silk shawl to the Chief Minister, who thanked him for the thoughtful gift.

It is worth mentioning that, under the Shehtoot Resham Bari Yojana, the department showcased re-reeling machines and Buniyaad reeling machines. Besides, information was provided about different types of silk, including mulberry silk, dabba silk, and tussar silk.

Raipur : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan)—a mega campaign aimed at enhancing facilities and promoting holistic development for tribal families in tribal-dominated villages across the country—on October 2 from Jharkhand. This initiative includes improvements in village infrastructure, economic empowerment, and enhancements in education and health standards, targeting 63,000 tribal-dominated villages nationwide.

In a recent Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan was approved to uplift the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities by adopting a comprehensive approach for tribal families in these areas. A budget of Rs 79,156 crore has been allocated for the swift implementation of this extensive campaign, which will be executed in collaboration with both Central and State Governments.

Tribal communities comprises nearly 32 per cent of Chhattisgarh's population. For the successful implementation of this campaign, as many as 6,691 tribal-dominated villages across 138 development blocks in 32 districts have been selected. The initiative will not only focus on developing essential facilities but also promote social and economic progress in these communities. Necessary guidelines have been provided to relevant departments in Chhattisgarh to ensure the effective rollout of this ambitious mission aimed at integrating tribal areas into the broader development framework.

Prime Minister Shri Modi is set to launch this scheme at a function in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on October 2. 'Lakhpati Didi' Mankunwar Bai and her family from Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh, will have the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister during the event. Shri Modi will address a state-level programme virtually, which will take place in Rajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, attended by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and other special guests.

The objective of the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan is to address critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihoods through various Government of India schemes. The aim is to ensure holistic and sustainable development of tribal areas and communities, drawing from the successes of the PM-JANMAN Yojana. As announced in the Union Budget, this initiative will cover a total of 63,000 villages in tribal-dominated areas, benefiting over five crore tribals. The campaign will include villages in 549 tribal-dominated districts across 2,740 blocks in 30 states and union territories. This mission comprises 25 programmes, to be implemented by 17 ministries, with each department tasked with executing the scheme in a time-bound manner over the next five years, utilizing the funds allocated under the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes.

Infrastructure development

Under the mission, eligible Scheduled Tribe families will receive pucca houses equipped with tap water and electricity supply through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). These families will also be connected with the Ayushman Bharat card, ensuring access to healthcare services. In addition, roads will be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to improve all-weather connectivity to tribal-dominated villages. Mobile connectivity and internet facilities will be established through the Bharat Net project. The initiative will also focus on strengthening infrastructure to improve health, nutrition, and education in these communities.

Under this initiative, the government will work to enhance basic infrastructure, along with launching social and economic development programs. The Abhiyan seeks to address critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihoods through 25 interventions implemented by various ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Foundation Laying and Inauguration of 109 Projects Worth Rs 187 Crore 51 Lakh

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation for several developmental projects worth crores in Surajpur district today. He inaugurated 27 projects constructed at a cost of Rs 57.1634 crore and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 7 projects under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department, Surajpur, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 68.7725 crore.

Under the Rural Engineering Service, Surajpur, Shri Sai laid the foundation stone for 3 projects worth Rs 44.82 lakh and 1 project under the Chhattisgarh Housing Board valued at Rs 43 lakh. Additionally, he inaugurated 4 projects built at a cost of Rs 57.52 lakh. Furthermore, he laid the foundation stone for 5 projects worth Rs 18.6980 crore under the Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development, Surajpur, and 18 projects worth Rs 2.3047 crore under the Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Surajpur. He also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 23 projects worth Rs 2.5559 crore under the Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Pratappur.

With the objective of ensuring all-round holistic development, Shri Sai performed foundation laying ceremony for 16 projects costing Rs 1.9292 crore under the Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Bhaiyathan, and inaugurated 1 project built at a cost of Rs 19.82 lakh. He also laid the foundation for 10 projects worth Rs 1.2553 crore under the Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Ramanujganj, and inaugurated 3 projects constructed at a cost of Rs 36.18 lakh. Additionally, the foundation laying was also done for 8 projects under the Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Premnagar, worth Rs 1.0759 crore.

Moreover, Shri Sai laid the foundation for 5 projects costing Rs 12.7529 crore under the Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, Surajpur, and inaugurated 3 projects constructed at a cost of Rs 10.18 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for 13 projects under the Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Surajpur, valued at Rs 45 lakh. The inauguration of 5 projects worth Rs 1.6893 crore under the Executive Engineer, Chhattisgarh Medical Services Limited, Ambikapur, was also conducted, alongside the inauguration of 2 projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) worth Rs 3.4271 crore and 5 projects under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana (MGSY) valued at Rs 1.2096 crore.

Additionally, 2 projects under the Municipal Council, Surajpur, were inaugurated at a cost of Rs 2.04 crore, marking another significant step in the region's infrastructural and civic development. Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives reflect the government's commitment to accelerating the pace of development in rural areas and ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society.
