Under this scheme, Mrs. Sumitra Bhagat, a resident of Indira Gandhi Ward No. 5 of the Balrampur Municipal Corporation, has taken commendable steps to strengthen her family's financial situation by taking advantage of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. The assistance provided by this government scheme has brought positive changes in her family's life.
Mrs. Sumitra Bhagat receives financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. Instead of limiting this amount to household expenses, Mrs. Bhagat started a small grocery shop. This shop has generated regular additional income, improving her family's financial situation. Now, she is able to easily meet the basic household needs and better care for her children.

Sumitra Bhagat says that the financial assistance she received from the Mahatari Vandan Yojana has inspired her to become self-reliant. This scheme has made it easier for her to fulfill her family responsibilities, and her family is living a better life than before. Raipur: The first Khelo India Tribal Games will be held in three cities of Chhattisgarh – Raipur, Jagdalpur and Surguja – from March 25 to April 6. This was announced by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday.

The Games will feature seven medal events – athletics, football, hockey, weightlifting, archery, swimming, and wrestling. Two demo games – mallakhamb and kabaddi – will also be held. Athletes from most of India's states and union territories will participate in the Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG).

Dr. Mandaviya said, "The Khelo India Tribal Games are part of our growing efforts to provide opportunities and platforms to every young person who aspires to play. This is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India, and sports play a huge role in this journey."
The logo, theme song, and mascot for the first Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) were formally launched on December 23 at the Late B.R. Yadav Sports Stadium in Bilaspur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao were also present at the event.

Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that these games will play a crucial role in strengthening emerging talent from tribal areas. He said, "It is crucial to uncover talent from tribal areas, and continuously expanding our athlete base is the need of the hour. We are ensuring that talented youth from tribal communities are identified early, systematically supported, and integrated into the national sports infrastructure." The
Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Indian Olympic Association, the National Sports Federations, and the Chhattisgarh State Organizing Committee. The technical standards of these games will be maintained at par with international competitions.
The name of the official mascot, "Morveer," is rooted in Chhattisgarh's cultural heritage. It is derived from two words: "Mor," which means "my" or "our" in Chhattisgarhi, and "Veer," which symbolizes courage and valor. Morveer represents the spirit, pride, and identity of India's tribal communities.
Chhattisgarh has become the first state to host this important national event dedicated to tribal athletes, marking a significant milestone in India's sporting journey towards tribal empowerment and promotion of grassroots participation.
The Khelo India Tribal Games are part of the flagship Khelo India scheme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, which aims to increase public participation and promote excellence in sports. In 2020, the Khelo India Games were declared an 'Event of National Importance' under the Sports Broadcasting Signals Act, 2007.

Raipur. Amidst the increasing use of digital services, a special attachment towards mother tongue Chhattisgarhi is being seen among the electricity consumers of the state. A large number of consumers are now preferring to get information in Chhattisgarhi language in the digital services of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, which shows the growing trust and affinity towards the local language.

The official language, Chhattisgarhi, is gaining a new identity in the digital age. More than four lakh consumers have now opted to receive information in Chhattisgarhi on the Chhattisgarh State Power Companies' More Bijli app and SMS service. This number is nearly ten times higher than those who chose English, reflecting the growing respect and trust the state's residents have for their mother tongue.

Energy Secretary and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution and Generation Company, Dr. Rohit Yadav said that promoting the official language Chhattisgarhi is the priority of the company. Availability of information in the local language makes the message reach the consumers in a more clear, simple and effective manner. This initiative is further strengthening the communication between the administration and the general public.
Mobile numbers of about 39 lakh consumers of the state are linked to the SMS service. Out of these, messages are being sent in Hindi to 34.7 lakh consumers, in Chhattisgarhi to more than four lakh and in English to about 35 thousand consumers. These messages include electricity bill payment, information about power supply disruption and other important information.

Mr. Umesh Kumar Mishra, Additional General Manager (Public Relations) of the power company, said that consumers can easily change their language by contacting the 1912 call center or through the More Bijli app.

Once a simple housewife who supported her family in farming, Janaki has now carved out a niche for herself as a successful businesswoman. Her achievements are due to the guidance she received from the Rural Livelihood Mission's "Bihan" scheme and her continuous hard work. Janaki joined the Jai Maa Gayatri Women's Self-Help Group, gaining knowledge about economic activities. Through the group, she gained awareness about savings, banking, and self-employment opportunities. Subsequently, she started a textile business with a loan from the Community Investment Fund (CIF). Through her hard work and customer trust, her business gradually grew. Obtaining additional loans through the group's bank linkage, she expanded her business and opened a fancy store. Subsequently, she opened a shoe shop with a loan under the Mudra scheme. Currently, her business sells clothing, fancy goods, and footwear, generating a good monthly income and strengthening her family's financial situation. Raipur. A contract was signed today between Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company and Bank of Baroda. This agreement provides for enhanced banking facilities and greater coverage, along with salary packages for regular employees. A memorandum was signed and handed over to the Managing Director of the Generation Company, Mr. S.K. Katiyar, and Mr. Dewakar of Bank of Baroda on this occasion. Mr. Katiyar described this agreement as a major step in the interests of the company and its employees. A total of 2,700 officers and employees are employed at the Generation Company's headquarters, Hesdeo Thermal Power Station, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Station, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Thermal Power Station, who will directly benefit from the agreement.
The company had requested the bank to create a special package for power generation employees, allowing them to access affordable and modern services from a single bank. The bank stated that in addition to having a contract with the central government, it is also providing such services to various government departments in the state.

Mr. Sandeep Modi, Executive Director of the Generation Company, stated that this contract includes insurance coverage of up to 12 lakh rupees, as well as coverage of 1 to 2 crore rupees for accidents and plane crashes. Bihaan Didi Chitrarekha Dhuri, associated with the Sanskar group of Gram Panchayat Nagpura, which falls under the Bhainsbod cluster of Janpad Panchayat Bilha in Bilaspur district, has proven that with strong determination and the support of government schemes, every dream can be realized. Living with limited resources, Chitrarekha chose the path of self-reliance by joining a self-help group, and today she is recognized as Lakhpati Didi. 

Chitrarekha described government schemes as a big support for economic self-reliance. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for the public welfare schemes, which are benefiting every section of the society. Before joining the group, the financial condition of Bihan Didi Chitrarekha Dhuri's family was very ordinary. Along with domestic responsibilities, she often had to face challenges due to limited sources of income for the family. At such a time, under the Bihan scheme of National Rural Livelihood Mission, Sanskar group not only gave her financial support but also boosted her self-confidence. By taking a loan from the group, she bought an e-rickshaw and gave the responsibility of its operation to her husband. This step brought a major change in Chitrarekha's life. Once she began earning a regular income from driving an e-rickshaw, she also took up sewing. She began earning additional income by sewing clothes for the village women and children. She also cultivated a vegetable garden near her house and began growing seasonal vegetables, which not only met her family's needs but also generated profits from sales in the market. These three activities strengthened her income, and gradually, her annual income exceeded one lakh rupees. Today, Chitrarekha Dhuri has become an example of financial empowerment and self-reliance. 
Chitrarekha's success has inspired other women in the village to become self-reliant by joining self-help groups. She happily shares that she also receives benefits under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, which helps her meet her small needs. She says that it is the Chief Minister's sensitive initiative that has ensured that women have their own money, and by participating in various government welfare schemes, many women like her are moving towards becoming economically empowered.

Ratna Majumdar explains that her father-in-law already cultivated flowers on a small scale. After joining the Maa Mahamaya Self-Help Group, she decided to turn this traditional work into a business. Through the group, she first obtained a loan of one lakh rupees and began cultivating flowers using modern technology on one acre of land. Through her hard work and dedication, she is now successfully growing flowers on two acres.

Ratna has adopted modern and scientific methods in farming. She imports high-quality plants from Kolkata, which begin flowering in just 24 days and produce continuously for approximately three months. Drip irrigation is used in the fields, which conserves water and provides adequate nutrition to the plants. Currently, she grows three main varieties of marigold flowers: red, orange, and yellow. She also cultivates cherries during the winter season. According to Ratna, the demand for flowers increases significantly during
festivals
like Navratri, Shivratri, Ramnavami, and Diwali, resulting in good prices. Despite low prices during normal times, scientific farming ensures year-round profits. She repaid the loan she took from the group on time and is now investing her income in expanding her farming.

Raipur/Jagdalpur. According to sources, the Naxalite mastermind, Aka Ganapati, was arrested from Nepal on Thursday. Ganapati is a member of the Maoist Politburo.
Arrested from Nepal, Ganapati served as the Central Committee Secretary from 2004 to 2018. Ganapati's arrest is being considered the biggest setback for the Naxalite organization. It is noteworthy that this is considered the final nail in the target of making Bastar Naxalite-free by the end of this month. This is the final blow by the security forces in the Naxalite den.According to other sources, a group of 15 Naxalites has also surrendered. All the surrendered Naxalites are said to be members of the Eastern Bastar Division Committee. The DVCM-level Naxalites arrived with weapons. Raipur. The discovery of a young man's blood-soaked body in Kharun Railway Colony on Thursday morning caused a sensation in the area. Upon receiving information from passersby, Ganj police arrived at the scene, prepared an inquest report, and handed the body over to Ambedkar Hospital for a postmortem. The deceased youth has been identified as Raja Sahu. Police suspect murder and are examining nearby CCTV footage. 
According to information received from Ganj police, some passersby saw the young man lying on the ground, covered in blood, inside the Railway Colony. Police were immediately informed. A police team arrived at the scene and inspected the scene. Preliminary investigations have identified the young man as Raja Sahu, a resident of the Chuna Bhatti area. Blood stains were found on the ground around the young man, raising suspicions of murder. However, police are currently investigating the case from all angles.
