Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai welcomed numerous women and girls to his residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on August 19. They tied Rakhi to the Chief Minister Shri Sai. In a historic and heartwarming moment, members of the transgender community were also present in the celebration, tying Rakhi to the Chief Minister and wishing him a happy and prosperous life. This event marked the first time in India that transgenders have visited a Chief Minister's residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in such a meaningful way.
Swachhata Didi, Divyang children, and beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana participated and tied Rakhi to Chief Minister Shri Sai, wishing him a joyful and fulfilling life. In return, the Chief Minister presented gifts to all the sisters and girls, reaffirming his commitment to their safety, respect, and prosperity.
Extending his Raksha Bandhan greetings, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated, "Today, I felt surrounded by love, as if I had many sisters. The affection and blessings from sisters and children across the state have truly touched my heart." He reiterated the Chhattisgarh Government's dedication to their well-being, highlighting the numerous welfare schemes aimed at supporting them. He stated, "Through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, we have fulfilled our duty to women of the state.


I am pleased that 70 lakh women in the state are receiving Rs. 1000 each month through this initiative." The Chief Minister emphasised that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has empowered women economically, enhancing their social standing and helping them meet household needs. "Your affection and blessings are my source of strength and inspiration," he added. The Chief Minister's residence was filled with joy as sisters gathered in large numbers, enthusiastically tying Rakhi and exchanging festive greetings and well wishes.

Kumari Chanchal Soni, who successfully climbed to Mt.Everest Base Camp, shared her delightful experience today at the Chief Minister's residence. She was deeply moved by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's affection and warmth towards the sisters, remarking that he has shown them even more respect than a biological brother would. Students from Government Abhyas Primary School in Mahasamund—Purvi Dewar, Bhumi Dewar, Neha Dewar, Pihu Bundela, and Sarika Dhimar—were visibly overjoyed as they tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister, who reciprocated their gestures with affection and gifts.
Smt. Jaibun Nisha, a beneficiary of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana from Telibandha, praised Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's government for its commendable work for women. She mentioned that as she grows older and frequently encounters health issues, the Rs. 1000 financial assistance from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, along with the Ayushman card, has been a significant help.
Smt. Lakshmi Sahu, a resident of Gudhiyari and a 12th-grade graduate, shared that she had purchased a sewing machine from the financial assistance received under the Mahtari vandan Yojana and expanded her tailoring business. She added that it also helps cover her children's school fees. Smt. Sahu shared that Chief Minister Shri Sai is fulfilling his promise as a brother by providing Rs. 1000 every month to all eligible women of the state.
Transgender police personnel, including Tanushri Sahu, Shankar Yadav, and Yogesh Janghel, along with other constables from the transgender community, tied Rakhis to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, extending their wishes for his happiness and well-being. Vidya Rajput, along with other members of the transgender community such as Avni Khorpade, Shivangi, Sakshi, Deshavi Mandal, Zoya, and Poppy Debnath, also tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister, offering their blessings on this special occasion.
In addition, Swachhata Didis, beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, divyangjan students from Mahasamund, children from the Government Abhyas Primary School, members of the Exact Foundation, girls from Prayas Residential School Gudhiyari, and representatives from the Udaan Nai Disha organisation also gathered at the Chief Minister's residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhis to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
