High level discussion on internal security and technology based policing
Raipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Raipur late Friday evening. He will attend the three-day DG/IG conference, which will be held from 28th to 30th November, the theme of which is 'Developed India: Dimensions of Security'. In this conference, police chiefs from across the country will review the current challenges related to internal security and discuss future strategies.
In the conference, there will be detailed discussions on important issues like Naxal eradication, counter-terrorism, disaster management, women's safety, integration of forensic science and artificial intelligence in policing. The Prime Minister will also present the President's Police Medal.
Over the years, the conference has been held in several parts of the country, including Guwahati, the Rann of Kutch, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, the Statue of Unity, and most recently, Bhubaneswar. This year, Raipur is hosting this prestigious conference.
The Prime Minister and the Home Minister will stay at the Speaker's House in Nava Raipur, and security has been beefed up across the area. Given Chhattisgarh's decisive edge in the anti-Naxal campaign and its role as a key hub of internal security strategy, officials believe Raipur is both symbolically and strategically a suitable location for this 60th edition.
