A new direction for peace and development in Bastar: 10 Maoists carrying a bounty of Rs 65 lakh surrender and return to the mainstream.
Raipur, November 28, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that humanitarian, sensitive and visionary initiatives like “Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025” and “Puna Margem: Rehabilitation to Regeneration” have established an environment of trust, security and lasting peace in Bastar.
The Chief Minister said that many people trapped in the Maoist web are now abandoning the path of violence and returning to development and the mainstream. In this vein, today 10 Maoists, including Chaitu alias Shyam Dada, a senior member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee and carrying a bounty of 25 lakh rupees, surrendered. The Chief Minister described this as clear evidence of a changing Bastar and the success of the government's policies.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also stated that, in accordance with the government's commitment, all surrendered comrades will be provided with the necessary rehabilitation facilities for a safe, dignified, and self-reliant life. He noted that the increasing number of surrenders demonstrates the public's trust in the government's policies and that Bastar is rapidly moving toward peace, trust, and development.
The Chief Minister described it as a collective result of the state's effective strategy, continuous hard work of the police administration and public trust and called it an important achievement towards establishing permanent peace in Bastar.
