Not guns, dialogue and development are the only permanent solution: Chief Minister Sai
Raipur - The Bastar region has achieved another historic milestone in the pursuit of peace, trust, and development. Under the "Puna Margem - Rehabilitation to Regeneration" initiative in Dantewada district, a total of 63 Maoists, including 36 with rewards, comprising 18 women and 45 men, have pledged to renounce violence and join the democratic and development mainstream. This is not just a surrender, but a decisive change for the future of Bastar.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said on this occasion that this achievement is a direct result of the strong will of the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the clear, multi-pronged security and development strategy of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. He said that this incident is proof that "dialogue and development, not guns, are the lasting solution."
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that due to the Chhattisgarh government's sensitive rehabilitation policy, precise security strategy, and good governance-based administrative approach, Naxalism has now reached its final stage. The Maoist network is being effectively dismantled, and basic amenities like roads, electricity, education, health, employment, and digital connectivity are rapidly reaching remote areas of Bastar.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the surrendered youth will be provided with proper arrangements for dignified rehabilitation, skill training, livelihood and social rehabilitation by the government so that they can become self-reliant citizens and establish themselves permanently in the mainstream of the society. He said that Bastar is now becoming a land of future, not fear – where peace, good governance and development are together laying the foundation of a golden tomorrow.
