CHHATTISGARH: Despite the challenge in the High Court, the Education Minister said – chanting of mantras will continue in schools.
Raipur. The political battle over chanting in Chhattisgarh's government schools has now reached the court, but the government appears in no mood to back down from its decision. School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav has clearly stated that chanting will continue in schools as before
The minister said that the government's goal is not just to provide children with a textbook education, but also to inculcate values in them. The decision to chant mantras was made in this spirit. Taking aim at the Congress party, he said it was unfortunate that the issue had to be taken to court.
Tribal organizations, Christian organizations, and the Congress party have filed a petition in the High Court challenging this order. All eyes are now on the court's decision. The government maintains that it stands by its order and will take further action based on the court's decision.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister also announced significant relief for retiring teachers. He stated that teachers retiring mid-semester during the 2026-27 academic year will be able to continue teaching until the end of the term if they wish, so that children's education is not affected
