Parsing the sports ground, Mr. Baghel said that this playground would prove to be a milestone in shaping the sports talents of Bastar and gaining recognition at national and international level by providing them necessary sports facilities. Chief Minister gave a morale boost to the players by playing lawn tennis with them. Mr. Baghel enthusiastically said that I will play all the games in the ground.

As a response to school closure during Covid-19 pandemic, Dabaguda village youth opened learning center

As a response to the school closure, youth of Dabaguda village of tribal-dominated Bastar district undertaken a unique initiative of starting a learning center to ensure uninterrupted learning of children during the time of Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 32 children were provided education along with sports activities for their holistic development in this learning center opened as per the instructions of district collector. Jeevan Das, a class 5 student, showed Chief Minister his learning center. He also displayed his sport skills in traditional games like ‘gilli danda’ and ‘bhaura’ (spinning top). Lastly, he said that I like skipping rope. ‘Aap bhi kud kar dikhao’, he innocently asked Chief Minister. Mr. Baghel decided to skip some rope on his sweet request. Chief Minister also enjoyed playing ‘gilli-danda’ and spinning top with the children, which made them excited and happy.

“This child is very talented. Get him admitted in Atmanand English Medium School”, Chief Minister said. A village youth informed that the blend of education and sports activities have led to rapid development of children. They come happily to the Learning Center. We make them study and play games as well.

Heaping praise on the youth, Chief Minister said that due to the awareness of people like you and the determination of the government, all of us were able to face the extreme times of Corona. “You guys have helped ensuring that no child is left behind during the pandemic and have nurtured the talents of children like Jeevan Das. Salute to your spirit”, he said. Chief Minister also took a group photo with all the children.

Hemvati Kashyap, a member of women Self-Help Group cultivating papaya at Mangalpur in Bastar district, shared the success story of her group with Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today. Currently, we have produced 300 tonnes of papaya on 10 acres of land and through this, we have done a business of Rs 40 lakh. By cultivating papaya, for the first time we got a chance to travel by aeroplane to go to Delhi, government under your leadership is changing our lives. Besides, the group has managed to generate a savings of Rs 10 lakh for which the Chief Minister congratulate them.

Committee secretary Hema Kashyap told that this land was very barren, to make the land cultivable, these women took about one and half months to clear the stone through 100 trolleys. The ground was levelled by digging for red soil and making beds for planting papaya plants. The soil was added again to make bigger beds. The land preparation was started by these women in December 2021 for about one and a half months, and then on January 11, 2021, the planting of papaya saplings started. It is the hard work of these women that today 5500 papaya plants are flourishing in an area of 10 acres. So far 300 tonnes of papaya have been produced till now. Intercropping of vegetables is being done in the middle of papaya beds. For the first time in Asia, the improved Amina variety papaya is being cultivated here which is very sweet in taste as well as nutritious.

While encouraging the women, the Chief Minister said that hard work is necessary for progress, only information, awareness and courage are needed. The people here are very hardworking. Farmers of Mangalpur should also teach other people about how passionate they are about farming. Like Mangalpur, farmers of every village of Bastar can progress by doing a similar kind of farming.

Bastar’s Papaya is being sold in Delhi

The sweet taste of papaya grown by women in Mangalpur village of Darbha block of Bastar has reached Delhi. Three consignments of about 5 tonnes of papaya have been sold in Azadpur Mandi of Delhi. The selling price received by the farmers is Rs. 80 per kg. This was only made possible because of the courage and hard work of these women who with their dedication have cultivated papaya despite unfavourable land conditions.

Chief Minister observed the improved agriculture technology with an automated drip irrigation system

The women farmers of Mangalpur have adopted the automatic drip irrigation system to provide adequate water and soluble fertilizers to the roots of Papaya plants. Only drip irrigation techniques can be used for farming in the rocky land of this region. Irrigation System Operator Manish Kashyap told the Chief Minister that this entire system is computerized, which can be operated from anywhere through the internet.

Use of innovative farm technology; Weather stations and mobile apps are being used

A state-of-the-art weather station has been installed in the women's bari. By which the appropriate temperature, evaporation rate, soil moisture, moisture content in the air, wind speed, and wind direction are measured. Women are using this information for irrigation through the app on their mobile. Productivity has increased with the use of this technology.

Women are becoming financially independent through Van Dhan Yojana

In response to Chief Minister’s question at Bhent-Mulaqat programme, Mrs Sumani Baghel told that her self-help group is presently doing the minor forest produce collection work under Van Dhan Yojana. Under this scheme, they collect Harra, Bahera, Giloy, Mahua, Tamarind etc. She told Chief Minister that two year ago, we had no work no job, but now after associating with this scheme, we have become financially empowered. Earlier we had not even seen such a big amount of money, but today we are capable of purchasing goods worth up to Rs 12 to 15 lakhs. Earlier middlemen would purchase forest produce from villagers at low cost and make huge profit by selling it on a higher price. But ever since minimum support price has been set for these forest produce, villagers are earning better profits.

Mrs Sumani further told Chief Minister that earlier, traders used to procure tamarind from the villagers at the rate of Rs.25, but now villagers are making good profit by selling this tamarind to us at the rate of Rs.33/kg. This scheme has made all of us financially empowered. Earlier we women used to depend on our husbands for the fulfillment of daily needs. She further told that this financial independence has boosted our self-confidence, so much that we are boldly expressing our thoughts, opinions and needs without any hesitation. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel appreciated and applauded Sumani's work and also congratulated her for her growth.

During the discussion, Mrs. Sumani told that her self-help group has 10 women members and when all of them are free from farming work, they work for 2 to 3 months and earn good profit from this scheme. She told Chief Minister that two years ago the cost of Tendu leaves was Rs.250 but now its value is Rs.400, because of which we have started earning an additional income of Rs.150. She thanked Chief Minister for Van Dhan Yojana, on behalf of the women group, the women of the village and the women of the state. On being asked by Chief Minister, Mrs. Soni told that she has her husband, her mother-in-law and two children in the family. Mahua is bought from the villagers at the support price of Rs 35,. Earlier her children used to study in English Medium School but after lockdown due to pandemic, she got them enrolled in local government school.

On the occasion of the 9TH Anniversary of the Jheerum Valley tragedy, the Chief Minister paid his tribute to the martyrs

9 years ago on this day, a Naxal attack in Jheerum Valley had taken place in which 32 people, including senior ministers of Congress and Police officers, lost their lives. To honor and pay a tribute to the martyrs, the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was present in the Lalbag Maidan in Jagdalpur. To preserve the memories of the 32 people martyred in Jheerum valley in the hearts of common people, a Jheerum Valley Martyr’s Memorial has been built in the Lalbag Maidan in Jagdalpur. The Chief Minister unveiled the memorial for the common people. He also hoisted a 100 feet tall Tricolor on the memorial premises to honor the memory of the martyrs.

The idols of 32 public representatives and soldiers martyred in Jheerum Valley have been constructed along with their respective names to keep their memories alive forever. The Chief Minister also gifted Shawls, Shrifal, and plants as a memory to the family members of the Jheerum Valley martyrs. The family members and relatives of the martyrs living in other cities were also connected to the event virtually through online media. The Chief Minister talked to the family members and also expressed his respect and appreciation for the work done by the martyrs. He said that everyone in the state is being served justice and Chhattisgarh is establishing itself as an island of peace. On this occasion, he said that the martyrs of Jheerum valley are showering us with blessings from heaven. He praised the family members of the martyrs for their courage and assured them of standing by them through thick and thin.

Chief Minister said in his address to the inaugural programme- “I pay my humble tribute to the martyrs of the heart-wrenching incident of Jheeram Valley and I hereby dedicate the Jheeram Valley Martyrs Memorial". He said that these were the public heroes of first line who were on the path of bringing about transformation in the lives of farmers, youth, children and women of the state. Today they are not with us, but their guidance and inspiration will remain with us forever.

Chief Minister said that our veteran leaders would have been really happy to see the justice being ensured to every section in Chhattisgarh today. However, their blessings will always be with us, like a guiding light. He added that Chhattisgarh Government will always stand with the families of the martyrs, under all circumstances.

Many party workers, jawans and common people had lost their lives in this incident. Jheeram Ghati Tribute Day is being observed on 25th May to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Life is very unpredictable but it is well said that all’s well that ends well. A story well suited to this phrase was narrated by a woman named Dasmi Kuhrami, a resident of Chandameta of Bastar. There was a time when Dasmi Kuhrami had a gun in her hand under the guise of Naxalites. But now these hands are welcoming the tourists visiting Bastar. Dasmi Kuhrami, once a Naxalite member earlier, is now being recognized as a decent, elegant receptionist. Dasmi surrendered after coming across the bitter truth of Naxalism. Now after joining mainstream society, she is grooming her life. Today, when Dasmi met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, she narrated her story. Kind-hearted Chief Minister Mr.Baghel after hearing the story of Dasmi expressed his sympathy and inspired her to do better work.

The story of Dasmi Kuhrami, who surrendered after being a Naxalite for long 9 years, tells the bitter truth of Naxalism and the life of Naxalites. Dasmi of Chandameta, a Naxal-affected area, was living a life of scarcity. In such a situation, she joined the Naxalite group named ‘Chetna Natya Mandali’ to fulfil her passion for dancing and singing. Initially, she was unaware of the reality of Naxal activities. Meanwhile, she met Vargesh, an active Naxalite member. After some time both of them decided to get married and spend their life together, but fate had something else for them. The dreams were shattered on the day of their marriage when Vargesh was killed in an encounter with security forces in Katekalyan. Dasmi was also spending the rest of her life in fear all the time while indulging in Naxalite activity. Neither she could meet her family members, nor she was able to live life freely. After living with Naxalites for such long 9 years, she decided to surrender in the year 2020 under influence of the Chhattisgarh government’s policies, and join the mainstream of the society.

After surrender, the administration gave the benefit of the ‘surrender policy’ to Dasami Kuhrami, and then Dasami returned to Chandameta. Meanwhile, she also got a job as a receptionist at Chitrakot Eco-Tourism Resort, and now she started a new life with all dignity and respect. Dasmi thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for all these schemes and efforts. Dasmi also told that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government has created a conducive environment in Bastar which resulted in a fact that a large number of people leaving the Naxalite activity and joining the mainstream society.

After her son was murdered by Naxals, the mother was in dire distress. Fearing Naxals, She heavy-heartedly sent her 6-year-old son to study in an ashram, and to protect him, she would never let her son near her home for all these years.

But times have changed, In a bid to provide proper accommodation for such Naxal-affected families, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has handed over the keys of happiness in the form of several homes. A government accommodation has been provided to Naxal victim families. 30 Naxal victims' families have been given houses for rehabilitation.

"For the last 21 years, I have lived as a destitute in constant fear, never knowing what home means. It was because of this fear, that my very own mother did not let me near my home to avoid any problems. In the year 2005, I was just six years old when my home was completely destroyed by Naxals. There was such a chaos of loot that cows, goats, clothes, utensils, and even salt were robbed away from the house. After the loot, only the door and four walls remained in the house, there was no roof left over our heads. The next day we didn't even have clothes to wear. A few months later, on 26 February 2006, On the day of Mahashivratri, My elder brother Mohan Mandavi, who was the SPO, was returning from Tular cave after offering prayers to Lord Shiva, On his way back home, Naxalites shot him down in a crowded market. Due to the fear of something similar, I was sent to Balak Ashram Barsoor in 2007, then to Bhairamgarh Potakabin, then to Mardoom".

Ramnath Mandavi became teary-eyed while narrating his story. He further informs that his mother did not allow him to return to his home so that he could stay alive. He said, "Whenever our hearts longed for each other, we used to meet in the market and used to cry a lot in each other's arms."

But the times have changed now, and Ramnath Mandavi will finally stay in a house. He and his mother will have a solid roof over their heads. In Chief Minister's Bhent and Mulaqat campaign in Dantewada, Mr. Baghel handed over the keys to a new home situated in a residential complex to Ramnath Mandavi. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, 36 fully equipped houses have been constructed at Karli, Dantewada for Naxal victims, and the families martyred in Naxal incidents. Out of which, 30 houses have been allotted to the Naxal victim's families.

Seema will stop her mother from working as a daily wage labor– Seema Karma is very happy after receiving the key to the government house from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Seema tells that she and her mother were in a lot of shock after the murder of her father by the Naxalites. "My father was an undercover soldier. On the night of the incident, the Naxalites broke into the house by breaking the door open and dragged my father away. We pleaded a lot but they did not leave him. The next day I learned that the Naxalites had killed my father by slitting his throat. After this, the Naxalites kept pelting stones in our village house so that we would leave the house out of panic. My Mother worked as a laborer and raised all three of us brothers and sisters. Till now, I was paying house rent of Rs 3,000. Now government accommodation has been provided by the state government, it will be a great relief for my family". Seema also informs that she has just joined the post of constable as a compassionate appointment after her father. Now she is determined to eliminate Naxalites.

The violent hands that had once destroyed schools, have now come forward to shape the future of the youth.

The violent hands that once broke school buildings, houses, etc, have now become determined to shape the future of the children living in remote parts of the state. A Surrendered Naxalite Anil Kunjam met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at Barsur in Dantewada district today. He told that this school was demolished by Naxalites in the year 2015 in Bhansi-Masapara. "With the initiative of the government, now a new school building has been built here and we have all cooperated in its construction". Anil Kunjam has let go of his violent tendencies and he wants to work toward educating children so that no one takes the path of violence because of ignorance.

It is worth mentioning that the Naxalites had demolished the Masapara school seven years ago in 2015, which took away the education of children living in the region.A The new school building was again constructed on the special initiative of the Chhattisgarh government and now children are availing education there. Furthermore, Maoists Shankar Kunjam and Anil Kunjam joined the mainstream community after leaving the path of violence under the Lone Varratu scheme. He has got the benefit of the rehabilitation scheme of the government, employment as well as other facilities.

It was then that he realized that the future of the children of the village had become bleak due to his breaking the school. When the district administration started the reconstruction of the school, the surrendered Naxalites Anil Kunjam and Shankar Kunjam actively contributed in the construction of the school in Masapur. After almost seven years in the new building of Masapara School, the echo of children reading Kakhara has started being heard again. There is new hope in the minds of parents regarding the future of their children.

Special effort is being made by the Chhattisgarh government to restart the closed schools due to Naxal activities in the Naxal-affected interior areas for the last three years, the happy result of which is that closed schools in Bijapur, Dantewada, Sukma districts are being operated again. To contribute to the educational infrastructure of their region, the local youth have started playing their part by joining the education system as teachers who will shape the destiny of children.

All kinds of cancer treatment facilities along with modern medical equipment will be made available under one roof

In a virtual programme held at his residence office today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel performed bhumipujan of an ultramodern State Cancer Institute to be built in Bilaspur at the cost of Rs 120 crore. On the occasion, Chief Minister said that this State Cancer Institute will be equipped with ultramodern medical equipment and medical facilities to treat all kinds of Cancer, and its construction will be complete within next one year.

At this State Cancer Institute to be built in Bilaspur, cancer patients in and around Chhattisgarh would be able to avail good facilities for cancer treatment. The institute will have facilities for treatment of all kinds of cancer under one roof, along with state-of-the-art cancer ward with 100 bed capacity and a state-of-the-art ICU ward with 20 bed capacity.

Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo, Minister in-charge of Revenue and Bilaspur Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Rashmi Ashish Singh, MP Mr. Arun Sao, MLA Mr. Krishnamurti Bandhi, District Panchayat President Bilaspur Mr. Arun Singh Chouhan also joined the program virtually. In his address to the programme, Chief Minister said that in continuation of the efforts to expand health facilities in Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh Government has taken another important initiative with bhumipujan of State Cancer Institute. This institute will surely prove to be of utmost importance for the treatment of cancer patients.

Addressing the program, Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has generously approved an amount of Rs 34.19 crore for the State Cancer Institute. In this way, an amount of Rs 51.84 crore has been received for this institute and its construction will be commenced soon. Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agrawal also addressed the programme, saying that Rs 34.50 crore will be spent for the construction of the building for State Cancer Institute and Rs.80.70 crore will be spent on the equipment required. All types of chemotherapy, such as-targeted, immuno, molecular, meteronomic facility will be made available in the State Cancer Institute free of cost. The institute will also have the facility of treatment state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine. Two Linear Accelerators, Cobalt Brachytherapy Unit, PET Scan machines, CT simulators, MRI machines and all state-of-the-art equipment for cancer research will be made available in the State Cancer Institute. Treatment for Breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral and throat cancer, lung cancer, colon and colon cancer, liver, gallbladder cancer, bone cancer, blood cancer will be provided under one roof. .

He planted a Kadam plant in the Deoguri courtyard. During this, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel conversed with Gaita (priests) and presented him with a dhoti-kurta as a gift. During the meeting, the Chief Minister introduced Small Lift Irrigation Scheme in Taragaon, Upgradation of Bade Jamhari Government High School to Higher Secondary School, Upgradation of Kanhargaon Government Secondary School to High School, 32 Garh Halba Samaj in Chhotedongar, 84 Parganas of Gondwana Samaj, Marar Samaj, Community building construction for Yadav society, asphaltization of a 5 km road from Chandagaon to Pani village via Sonapal. An announcement was made to open 5 new paddy procurement centers in Garhbengal and Kukdajhor, up-gradation work of making additional rooms to be constructed in Danteshwari temple. In a bid to expand medical facilities, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of the Community Health Center at Chhotedongar and 50 bedded Mother-Child specialty Hospital in Narayanpur. Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Lok Sabha MP Mr. Deepak Baij, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Handicrafts Development Board Mr. Chandan Kashyap, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present on the occasion.

Maserati khasra distributed to 1121 farmers of newly surveyed villages

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given Masahti Khasra to 1121 farmers of newly surveyed villages of the Abujhmad area in Chhote Dongar. So far, a total of 2500 farmers of Narayanpur district have been given masahti khasra. Khasra for the area of 1414.24-hectare was distributed to the beneficiaries. So far, the survey of 18 villages such villages has been completed.

National competition winner Rajesh's name is recorded in the India Book of World Records.

During the meeting, a villager, Mr. Sundaram Poyam, told Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel that after selling 50 quintals of paddy, money was immediately transferred to his account, and his loan of one lakh rupees has also been waived. On being asked by the Chief Minister what did he do with the money, farmer Poyam said that the field has been cordoned off with the financial assistance provided by the state government. Lata didi informed that by the formation of Bihaan group, she has bought 50 quintals of cow dung., she has been cultivating mushrooms, and selling them for Rs 200 per kg. The Chief Minister also tasted a local tamarind drink prepared by the woman. On the demand of the woman, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a bore and shed for the group. During the inspection of PDS in Chhotedongar, when the Chief Minister asked the villagers whether there was any complaint or not...everybody in one voice said no.

Exceptional Performing Scholars were felicitated by the Chief Minister

Shaili Yadav, a 12th class student of Narayanpur has scored 97.5 % in her tenth boards and has secured 6th rank, Tinisha Sahu, a student of Swami Atmanand English Medium School has secured 2nd rank in her 12th board and Murlidhar of Halba tribe has topped the district in the 12th boards. All these scholars were felicitated by the Chief Minister who congratulated them and wished them luck for a bright future.

People no longer have to climb all the way uphill or cross rivers to get food grains from ration shops

25 families will now get their ration at the nearest Gram Panchayat

“Our village has 25 families and all these families have to climb uphill around 16 kms for two and a half hours to reach ration shop for food grains. And often while returning, they have to walk nearly 35 kms on a dilapidated pathway, cross rivers, nala, and go through various inconveniences just to reach home after collecting ration from the shop. I request Chief Minister to connect all these families of the village to the ration shop of nearest panchayat Chhuidih, so that they may collect ration conveniently without having to travel afar”, said Harilal, a resident of Gadaipara. Responding to his demands at once, Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements so that the families of Gadaipara village may collect ration from the shop situated in the nearest Gram Panchayat of Chhuidih.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is touring various assembly constituencies to directly connect with people and to review the implementation of government schemes on the ground. In the same sequence, Chief Minister visited village Kudargarh of Bhatgaon assembly constituency in Surajpur district on May 7, where at the Chaupal the aforementioned problem came to light. Taking immediate action on their demand, Chief Minister gave instructions to the officials concerned and within six days, arrangements have been made to provide these 25 families of Kudargarh food grains from the ration shop of village Chhuidih.

Now people of Kudargarh village will no longer have to climb uphill or cross rivers-rocky pathways to collect food grains from a distant ration shop. They have now been connected to the ration shop in the nearby gram panchayat of Chhuidih, so that they may collect the ration conveniently. Chief Minister had given instructions to make this arrangement on May 7 and by May 13, the beneficiaries were enlisted at the shop of village Chhuidih.

Rakesh Varda, a 12-year-old boy hailing from Abujhmad region of Chhattisgarh’s red corridor had to leave his home village Orchha along with his father four years ago. Seeing Rakesh’s passion for sports, the Naxalites threatened his father to stop his son from playing and even forced him to move out of village.

However, Rakesh’s father did not give into the stronghold of Maoist fear and gave priority to his son’s passion. He took him to Kutulgarpa village, where the then 8-year-old Rakesh met Manoj Prasad, who worked in the Chhattisgarh Special Task Force and was also the trainer of Mallakhamb.

Prasad gave new wings to dreams of Rakesh and at the age of just 12, he won the title of National Mallakhamb Handstand Competition held in Goregaon, Maharashtra. Rakesh not only won the title of winner while doing handstand for straight 1 minute 6 seconds but he also set a new record for India and the world. Earlier, India's best record was 30 seconds.

About 1000 players from across the country participated in this competition. Rajesh Korram, another 11-year-old boy hailing from Abujhmad bagged second position in the same competition. Rakesh made it to the India Book of Records for his outstanding performance. In addition, he has also applied for Guinness Book of World Records for this performance, which has been accepted. However, Rakesh is not able to pay the fee of Rs 80 thousand required for the nomination process.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel congratulated Rakesh for his outstanding achievement by shaking hands with him and directed Narayanpur district collector to provide financial assistance to him for the nomination for Guinness Book of World Records.

As many as 10 players from Chhattisgarh, including Rakesh Varda, who won the National Mallakhamb Handstand Competition, have been selected for the Khelo India programme to be held in Haryana. The 12-year-old boy has bought laurels to the state and proved that boys hailing from remote inaccessible villages can also excel in sports.

Implementation of the decision to release caste certificates that mention the caste in English has started

The Chief Minister started the distribution of caste certificates that mention the name of the caste in English in Bijapur

No one will be deprived of receiving a caste certificate because of quantitative errors

The rights of the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes will remain protected

Starting another significant initiative for the benefit of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the Chief Minister today started the distribution of caste certificates with the names of castes mentioned in English. The Chief Minister started this noble initiative during the Bhent Mulaqat program in Bijapur. The Chief Minister provided caste certificates to three beneficiaries of the Pradhan tribe. These caste certificates mentioned the name of the caste in English for the first time.

During the cabinet meeting presided by the Chief Minister on 1 May, the decision to mention the caste name in English on caste certificates was taken to ease the difficulties faced by the people of Scheduled Tribes and Castes in receiving caste certificates due to quantitative errors. As per this decision, the Chief Minister distributed the caste certificates to three beneficiaries hailing from the Mingachal village of Bijapur district of the Pradhan tribe, namely, Sunil Kandik, Asha Kandik, and Nisha Kandik.

This revolutionary step by the State Government will ensure that the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes will have no difficulty in obtaining caste certificates and will be able to reap the benefits of various schemes. Their rights related to the concessions provided in the education, employment, and scholarship schemes will be protected. Before this decision, the real beneficiaries of Scheduled Tribes and Castes faced difficulties in obtaining caste certificates due to quantitative errors and therefore couldn’t reap the benefits of various government schemes. During the caste certificate distribution, the Minister of Commerce and the District In-charge Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Lok Sabha MP Mr. Deepak Baij, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, and the Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present.

The farmers narrated their stories to the Chief Minister

During the Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan, while taking feedback on government schemes in the remotest area of the state, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel also came across various people’s stories having mixed emotions of happiness and sorrow. A farmer came to the remote town of Aavapalli in the Bijapur district of the Bastar division and narrated his story with the watering eye of being helpless to free off from loan debt. He also told that he thought of committing suicide due to debt but the loan waiver scheme gave him a new life.

Mr. Afzal Khan, who came from Bhopalpatnam to attend the Jan Chaupal of Aavapalli, also narrated his story to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that “the loan waiver scheme helped me out to take the second crop from my field otherwise I would have thought of doing suicide”. On being asked by Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, he said that he had a loan waiver of about Rs.8 lakh 36 thousand. Mr. Afzal Khan said that if a dam has been built on the nearby river Talperu, then it will benefit many other farmers like him.

Three and a half years ago, when the new government was formed in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had fulfilled two big promises made to the farmers within two hours. One of these was the purchase of paddy for Rs.2500 per quintal and the other was complete freedom from old debt. Both these steps of the government proved to be giving a new life to farming in Chhattisgarh. The loans of about 19 lakh farmers worth Rs.9,270 crore were waived off. However, soon after, the central government objected to giving a bonus on paddy purchase, and then the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, which gave input subsidy on crops to farmers was started in Chhattisgarh. Under this scheme, in the past two Kharif seasons, about 21 lakh farmers of the state have been given input assistance of Rs. 11,180 crore so far. Now the first instalment of about Rs.7 thousand crores of the third Kharif season has been announced to be released on 21st May on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Mr.Rajiv Gandhi.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the Press conference held in Sukma said that The State government is constantly trying to give Water, Forest, and land rights to tribals. He further said that one should have faith in the Constitution of India and any tribal is welcome to discuss his/her grievances.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that a lot has changed in Sukma over the years. From being a severely Naxal-hit region, Sukma has been transformed and is equipped with public welfare facilities targeted at the holistic development of the region in terms of transportation, education, health, and nutrition. The income of the tribals is increasing through the purchase of minor forest produce and other income-generating alternatives. The quantity of forest produce procured is constantly increasing in the area. Ration shops are being opened in the interior areas, schools which were closed are being re-operated. Sukma, from where Naxalism had once started, development has left Naxalism far behind.

The villagers who were earlier opposing security camps, today are demanding security camps. Cordial relations have been established between the villagers and the security forces. Mr. Baghel said that genuine beneficiaries are receiving Forest Rights Recognition letter, and on that land, they practice income-generating activities like farming, animal husbandry, fisheries, poultry, etc. The self-confidence of women has increased due to employment-oriented activities in Gauthans which is making women financially self-reliant.

Appreciating the initiative taken by the Sukma district administration for organizing convenience camps, the Chief Minister said that with this unique initiative, the residents of interior villages are also getting their Aadhaar, caste, and residence certificates, and Ayushman cards. Caste certificates have been delivered to the homes of more than 31 thousand children in the district.

Devanti Yadav’s long-pending case of demarcation resolved immediately

Devanti had shared his grievance with Chief Minister, duing his visit to Aragahi under Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan

Taking immediate action on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Balrampur-Ramanujganj District Administration ensured demarcation of Devanti Yadav’s land in village Belasar. Devanti Yadav had requested Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to help her with the demarcation of her land, during his visit to village Aragahi on May 5 under Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan. Devanti Yadav had told that she bought this land in year 2010, but demarcation of this land has not been done till date. In response, Chief Minister had directed district administration officials to ensure the demarcation of Devanti Yadav's land at the earliest. The Administrative officials have acted upon the instructions of Chief Minister and completed the demarcation of the land owned by Devanti Yadav. She is happy with the prompt action of the administration and grateful to the Chief Minister for resolving her problem.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister, district administration had constituted a team to demarcate the land of Devanti Yadav, resident of village Belsar in Shankargarh tehsil. On May 18, the district-level team ensured demarcation of 2.021 hectares of land located in village Belsar owned by Devanti Yadav with the boundary marking. This process was completed as per the map of this land, in presence of Devanti Yadav- the appellant, the farmers and villagers of Chauhaddi's area, and now all the parties are satisfied. Devanti Yadav thanked Chief Minister for the demarcation of her land.
