Bus collides with parked trailer, 16 passengers injured, 11 critically
Bilaspur. On Tuesday, around 5:30 a.m., a speeding bus collided with a trailer parked on the National Highway under the Ratanpur police station area. Sixteen passengers were injured in the accident, 11 of whom are reported to be in critical condition. The accident caused chaos at the scene.
According to reports, the Royal Bus, traveling from Bihar to Raipur, crashed on the National Highway in the Ratanpur area. Due to fog and poor visibility, the driver failed to see a trailer parked on the side of the road. The bus, at high speed, rammed directly into the trailer. More than 25 passengers were on board at the time of the accident. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the bus was severely damaged. Many passengers were trapped between the seats, requiring considerable effort to extricate them. With the help of local residents, the injured were immediately rescued and transported by ambulance to the Ratanpur Community Health Center. After receiving first aid, 11 seriously injured passengers were referred to SIMS Bilaspur for further treatment.On receiving information about the accident, Ratanpur police reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Police controlled the traffic at the accident site so that there is no traffic jam on the highway. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Ratanpur Tehsildar Shilpa Bhagat and Ratanpur Police Station in-charge also immediately reached the spot and hospital and took stock of the situation.
