CG News : A major and historic change is underway in Chhattisgarh's government system. The system of physical files, which has been in place for years, is about to end. From January 1, 2026, all government departments, including the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Divisional Commissioner's Office, and Collector's Offices, will operate exclusively through the e-office system.

The state Chief Secretary has issued a clear order in this regard. According to the order, no documentation or physical file can be handled without the permission of the department head. This order applies to all government departments, the Revenue Board Bilaspur, all department heads, divisional commissioners, and collectors. It is noteworthy that preparations have been underway to effectively implement the e-office process in the state for almost a year.

According to CG News , starting January 1, 2026, all office settlements and mail transactions will be handled through the e-office system. The aim is to make work faster, more organized, and transparent. There will be a complete ban on moving physical files at any level without the approval of the department head.

The Chief Secretary also clarified in the order that this system is a step toward strengthening good governance. The e-Office system will make government work more effective, simple, accountable, and transparent. Currently, files and mail are being handled through e-Office in the Ministry and several offices, which is now being made mandatory throughout the state
