No more office visits! All government work in Chhattisgarh will be online. Learn how e-office will benefit you.

CG News: Starting January 1, 2026, all government work in Chhattisgarh will be conducted online. The state government has issued guidelines to all departments, divisional commissioners, and collectors to operate through e-office. Taking a major step towards good governance and digital transformation, the government has made the e-office system mandatory.

E-office mandatory from the new year
The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued clear instructions to all department heads, divisional commissioners and collectors from the ministry to the district level that from January 1, 2026, every file, register and mail should be edited only through e-office.

The government believes that e-Office will make operations more transparent, accountable, simple, and effective. Currently, file management through e-Office has begun in many state offices, including the Ministry of Information, and is now being fully implemented.

The main directive issued by GAD is that
from January 1, no physical file will be operated.
Paper files will be completely banned without the permission of the head of the department.
Cases requiring approval at the government level will be sent to the government only through e-office files.
Informational correspondence will be done only through e-office receipts.
Officers will be able to complete their work through e-office even when they are outside the headquarters or on official tour.
Officers and employees will be able to work from e-office as per requirement even during public holidays.
Documents should be generated digitally as far as possible.
The process of printing, scanning and uploading has been discouraged.
