Big warning: 1.85 lakh ration cards in Chhattisgarh will be cancelled? No grain available from January, is your name on this list?
CG Ration Card: Important news has emerged regarding ration card holders in Chhattisgarh. Ration card holders in the state who have not yet updated their e-KYC will not receive rations in January. Cardholders were alarmed as soon as the news of their non-availability of rations surfaced. The situation is such that large crowds of people are now being seen at Food Department offices.
No e-KYC, no ration.
In fact, the state government has made it mandatory for every member registered on a ration card across the state to update their e-KYC. The department has been urging cardholders to complete their KYC for the past year, but despite this, many people did not take it seriously. Now, with the deadline approaching, the government has clarified that those who have not updated their ration card KYC will not receive ration allocation for the month of January.
Fearing they might not receive rations, people are flocking to the Food Department office and standing in long lines from morning until late evening to update their KYC. However, people are relieved that they are still getting the opportunity to update their KYC.
According to other
data, there are a total of 5 lakh 66 thousand ration cards in the district, in which 18 lakh 28 thousand members are registered. Out of which, the KYC of about 1 lakh 85 thousand members has not been updated yet. Let us tell you that all these are APL (Above Poverty Line) category card holders. Despite the department's continuous efforts, 100% KYC has not been completed, hence the government had to take this strict decision. The department has also appealed that everyone should get their KYC done today itself or else they will not get ration for January.
