MP Sports Festival – Fit Youth, Developed India concludes with grand finale: Chief Minister Sai boosts the enthusiasm of the players

Raipur. The closing ceremony of Sansad Khel Mahotsav - Fit Yuva, Vikasit Bharat was held today in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai was present as the chief guest on this occasion. During the programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya and MPs from across the country joined through video conferencing and addressed the closing ceremony virtually. The crowd present in the auditorium listened attentively to the inspiring speech of the Prime Minister.Chief Minister Shri Sai began his address with greetings on Good Governance Day and paid tribute to Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister, the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that events like the Sansad Khel Mahotsav – Fit Youth, Developed India, strengthen the sports culture among the younger generation and provide a strong platform for talented athletes to thriveChief Minister Shri Sai stated that this festival was held for approximately four months at 36 different locations in the Raipur parliamentary constituency. School and college students, as well as citizens from rural and urban areas, enthusiastically participated. He extended special congratulations to Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal for organizing this comprehensive and well-organized event.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that in sports, first, second, or third place isn't everything; rather, discipline, team spirit, dedication, and consistent practice are what make a great athlete. He expressed confidence that this festival will produce many athletes who will bring glory to Chhattisgarh and the country at the national and international levels. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the government is committed to giving wings to the dreams of athletes. He added that such events provide a golden opportunity for sporting talent to thrive.


The Chief Minister stated that the Chhattisgarh government is continuously taking concrete steps to promote sports. The Sports Investiture Ceremony has been restarted in Chhattisgarh. An Olympic-bound athlete from the state will receive an incentive of ₹21 lakh, while gold, silver, and bronze medalists will receive ₹3 crore, ₹2 crore, and ₹1 crore, respectively. 
He stated that Chhattisgarh has been awarded the Khelo India Tribal Games hosting rights in 2026, a matter of pride for the state. Raipur's International Cricket Stadium is the third largest in the country and will once again host major matches in January. Khelo India offices are being established at various locations to nurture new sporting talent.
Addressing the event, Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav - Fit Youth, Developed India, launched on August 29th, was successfully held at 36 venues in the Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. He said that not only education but also sports are equally important in life and through this, children can bring glory to the country and state. This festival saw participation from 542 villages and over 85,000 players, which is a record participation in the entire country.


He said that the festival showcased a beautiful blend of traditional and modern sports. The participation of women over 70 in the Gidi competition, enthusiastic performances in sports like Kabaddi, Phugdi, and Volleyball, and the participation of transgender players in tug-of-war—all sent a powerful message of social harmony and inclusion. School dropouts also had the opportunity to showcase their talent, and experienced athletes were honored.
MP Shri Agarwal noted that approximately 1,500 sports officials, school teachers, and retired sports officials played a significant role in making this grand event a success. Competitions were also held on university campuses. Congratulating all the players and organizers, he said that in the future, the MP Sports Festival will be made more systematic, comprehensive, and effective.
