CG News: After the completion of the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Chhattisgarh, the State Election Commission claimed that there were 21.2 million voters in the state. A draft voter list was released and objections were sought from voters excluded from the voter list.
2.74 lakh people filled the form to add their names.
Voters have started submitting application forms to the Commission to add their names to the voter list prepared after the SIR process. According to the Commission officials, till now more than 2 lakh 74 thousand people from different districts of the state have filled the form to add their names to the voter list. After scrutiny of these forms, the number of voters in the voter list will increase.
The first phase of the SIR process is complete.
It should be noted that the SIR process, which began in Chhattisgarh on November 7th, lasted approximately 45 days. Thousands of booth-level officers conducted door-to-door verification of voters. Those whose names are not on the draft list will be given a notice from the Election Commission and given the opportunity to re-add their names.
The final list will be released on February 21.
Claims and objections can be submitted from December 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026. Hearings and verifications will take place from December 23, 2025, to February 14, 2026. The final voter list will be published on February 21, 2026.
