Hemchand's family got a permanent house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Raipur . In line with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai's vision of providing safe and permanent housing to every family, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is transforming lives at the grassroots level. A living example of this is Mr. Hemchand Nag, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Nagar Panchayat Farasgaon, District Kondagaon, who gifted a permanent house to his father, Mr. Tirku Ram Nag, through this scheme.

Hemchand Nag explained that his old house, made of bamboo and mud, was frequently damaged during the rainy season. The weakened walls caused severe hardship for his family—his father, wife, and two children. The situation became so severe that he had to temporarily send his father to his brother's house for safety.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government's policy of effectively implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and ensuring that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries was followed. Hemchand Nag was added to the scheme during a ward-level briefing. Thanks to the active involvement of the Nagar Panchayat and related officials, the housing was approved, and a 29-square-meter permanent house was constructed at a cost of Rs 3.05 lakh.

On the auspicious occasion of the housewarming ceremony, Hemchand Nag first performed the rituals through his father and emotionally dedicated the permanent house to him. His father became emotional upon seeing the new house. Hemchand Nag said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's vision is not limited to announcing schemes, but rather aims to provide respect, security, and self-confidence to the last person. He expressed his gratitude to the councilor, the Chief Municipal Officer, and all the employees of the Nagar Panchayat for this achievement.
