Sukli Bai's water woes are over, she now has access to pure drinking water at home.
Raipur. The Jal Jeevan Mission has become a major relief for rural communities. This scheme now provides rural families with access to clean and safe drinking water in their homes. This has provided permanent relief from a long-standing water problem. With daily access to pure water, the lives of villagers have become easier and safer than before.
In the past, people in villages had to travel long distances to get water. Women, in particular, had to walk several kilometers each day to fetch water. This took a toll on their time, effort, and health. Water scarcity posed significant challenges in tasks like cooking, cleaning, and caring for livestock. Water is a vital necessity in our lives. From morning until night, water is needed for every task. Life without water is unimaginable. Recognizing this need, the government launched the Jal Jeevan Mission with the goal of "Water for Every Home," ensuring drinking water access in every village.
Mrs. Sukli Bai, a resident of Rokhni village, a dependent village of Khamhi Gram Panchayat in the Pandariya development block of Kabirdham district, who benefited from this scheme, explains that due to her age, fetching water from far away had become increasingly difficult. Bathing, cooking, and even providing water for her cattle were also major challenges. Lack of water at home disrupted all daily activities. She explained that after receiving a tap connection under the Jal Jeevan Mission, she no longer had to go anywhere for water. She now has access to ample clean water at home, making her life easier and safer than ever before. Sukli Bai expressed her gratitude to the government for providing access to pure drinking water at home through the Jal Jeevan Mission. Today, this scheme provides tap water to millions of households in the district. This has improved people's health, saved time, and improved their quality of life. This scheme is a highly commendable step towards rural development.
