Surguja. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has emerged as a ray of hope for thousands of needy families in rural Chhattisgarh. This ambitious scheme, being rapidly implemented in the state, has begun to transform the lives of those families who, until now, lived in mud houses, facing the ravages of the weather and insecurity.

Mrs. Kumudni of Ajirama village panchayat in the Ambikapur development block of Surguja district has also benefited from this scheme. Her new pucca house has been completed, bringing relief to her family. Previously, she lived in a mud house, facing many difficulties during summer, winter, and rain. Mrs. Kumudni explained that due to financial constraints, building a pucca house was impossible. However, the incentive received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin made her dream come true. Using government assistance and her own savings, she built a safe, strong, and dignified home for her family.
