Jagdalpur . President Draupadi Murmu will visit Bastar on February 7th. She will inaugurate the division-level Bastar Pandum program at the Lal Bagh grounds in Jagdalpur. The district administration and police department have intensified preparations for the President's arrival. Arrangements for stage construction, barricading, media gallery, parking, and VVIP movement are being finalized at the venue. Security agencies are on alert, and surveillance has been increased throughout the area.

President Murmu will be the fifth President of the country to visit Bastar. Previously, former President Ram Nath Kovind visited Dantewada nearly eight years ago. In view of the President's proposed visit, senior administrative and police officials in the Bastar division are constantly reviewing preparations. Separate teams have been assigned to ensure smooth traffic arrangements, meeting management, and basic amenities.

The President's visit to the tribal-dominated Bastar region is considered extremely important both socially and administratively. It is hoped that this will give the region a new national identity.
