New direction for Bastar tourism: A grand resort will be set up near Mendri Ghumar waterfall.
Raipur. There's good news for tourists visiting Bastar to admire its natural beauty and waterfalls. A magnificent resort will soon emerge near the Mendri Ghumar Falls, renowned for its beauty comparable to Chitrakoot. Following the initiative of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, the Lohandiguda administration has accelerated efforts. The process of transferring the jail department's land in Mendri village to the Tourism Department for this project has begun.
According to an official notification issued by the Tehsildar Court, Lohandiguda, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board submitted an application for land allotment for tourist convenience and the construction of a resort near the Mendri Ghumar Falls. Taking cognizance of this, a proposal has been prepared to transfer the government land to the Tourism Department. The administration has identified a total of 20.28 hectares of land in Mendri village under Khasra numbers 50, 77, 179, and 184 for the resort's construction, enabling a significant expansion of tourism facilities in the area.
To ensure transparency in the land transfer process, the administration has issued a notice to the public. It clarifies that any individual, organization, or department with any objection or claim to the transfer of this land to the Tourism Department may submit a written objection, either in person or through their lawyer, to the Tehsildar Court, Lohandiguda, within 15 days of the notice's publication. A hearing date has been set for February 7, 2026. The administration has also clarified that objections received after the stipulated time period will not be considered, and it will be assumed that no one has any objection to the land transfer, clearing the way for construction.
