Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai left for Jashpur district today on a two-day visit. During his visit, the Chief Minister will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the much-anticipated Mayali-Bagichi Tourism Development Project in Mayali, Jashpur district, on February 5th. This project will not only boost tourism in the region but also create new employment and income opportunities for local people.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has approved an amount of approximately ₹10 crore for the Mayali-Garden Development Project under the CBDT sub-scheme of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0. This project will be developed near the Mayali Dam, taking into account the natural beauty and religious significance of Madheshwar Hill.
Chhattisgarh has immense tourism potential, and Jashpur district is particularly known for its natural beauty. Its rivers, waterfalls, mountains, valleys, dense forests, and rich tribal and rural culture consistently attract tourists. Keeping these potential in mind, special efforts are being made to develop tourism in the Jashpur region. Under the project, a tourist resort and skill development center will be developed. Tourism development work will also be carried out in the cave temple and Kailash Cave (garden) area located at the foot of Madheshwar Hill, promoting religious and natural tourism.
The state government also proposes to develop homestays to promote tourism, providing additional income opportunities for local residents. Implementation of the Mayali Garden Project will increase tourist arrivals in the Jashpur region, benefit local youth through skill development, and create new employment opportunities in the region. The groundbreaking ceremony, to be performed by Chief Minister Shri Sai, will mark an important step towards the tourism development of Jashpur district.
