A young woman was duped of Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of buying a camera on OLX.

Raipur : Another case of online fraud has come to light, where an unknown person posted an advertisement on OLX to sell a camera and duped a young woman of two lakh rupees. Bhavya Dewangan, 23, a resident of Mahamaya Temple, Old Basti, filed a report at the police station on Monday midnight.

According to the victim, on Monday evening, she saw an advertisement for a camera on OLX and contacted the mobile number listed in the advertisement, 9142986462. During the conversation, the accused assured her of sending the camera and transferred 2 lakh rupees to his account via UPI.

After sending the money, Bhavya waited for the camera to be delivered for two days, but neither did she receive the camera nor could she contact the accused. Realizing she had been duped, she went to the police station late at night and filed a complaint. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
