Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the multi-crore compensation scam under the Bharatmala project in Chhattisgarh. Tehsildar Shashikant Kurre and Naib Tehsildar Lakheshwar Prasad Kiran, who were absconding for a long time, have finally been arrested. These officials are accused of colluding with revenue officials and land mafias to cause losses worth crores to the government through falsified documents. Following the Supreme Court's rejection of their bail pleas, the Special Court issued a permanent warrant against them. Following their arrest in Raipur, they are being rigorously interrogated while on police remand, which is expected to yield many more shocking revelations related to this massive corruption syndicate.
