Chief Minister offers prayers at Baba Dham on Mahashivratri, lays foundation stone for development works worth Rs 1.20 crore

Raipur. On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai along with his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai reached Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba Dham located in village Kosmanara at one o'clock in the night during his stay in Raigarh. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state by performing the rituals of worship of Lord Bholenath and Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the entire state on the occasion of Mahashivratri.


During this ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai formally laid the foundation stone for various development projects costing ₹1.2 crore (120 million rupees) under the District Mineral Trust Fund. The proposed works include the construction of a shed with granite flooring in front of the main building, a shed for visitors to rest and eat, a toilet complex building, and a cement concrete road to the parking area. Congratulating the residents for these initiatives, he said that this will provide better facilities to devotees. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai stated that this shrine located in Kosmanara is a major center of devotion and faith. Its spiritual energy provides positive direction and self-confidence to society. He stated that the state government, with the blessings of its elders and the trust of the public, is continuously moving forward on the path of public welfare.


It is noteworthy that this shrine, located approximately 7 kilometers from the Raigarh district headquarters, has been a major center of faith for devotees for years. Large numbers of devotees visit here to seek the darshan of Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba and Lord Bholenath. According to local lore, Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba has been engaged in rigorous penance since 1998. In 2003, he received the title of Shri Shri 108, after which the shrine's fame further increased. It is said that Baba collected stones to form a Shivalinga and made that very spot his place of penance. His devotion to Lord Bholenath in the open during the rainy, summer, and winter seasons has become a hallmark of his penance. Mayor Shri Jeevardhan Chauhan, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Degreelal Sahu, local public representatives, sarpanches, dignitaries, Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Shashi Mohan Singh, other administrative officials, and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
