Raipur. After the presentation of the budget for the year 2026-27 in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade described it as a historic and visionary budget that realizes the resolutions of the Mother's Pride Year. She said that this budget presented by Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary is dedicated to the respect, security and economic empowerment of women under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai

Minister Smt. Rajwade stated that this budget is not merely a document of statistics, but a concrete blueprint to empower the self-confidence of the state's mothers, sisters, and daughters. The government has given a clear message of inclusive development by placing the education, health, nutrition, security, and economic independence of women and girls at the center of its policy.

A new dimension to women's entrepreneurship, Minister Smt. Rajwade stated that a provision of ₹5 crore has been made for the Chief Minister Lakhpati Didi Parikrama Yojana
. Through this scheme, women associated with self-help groups will have the opportunity to study, train, and upgrade their skills on successful livelihood models from the state and the country. This will boost the rural economy and give women entrepreneurship a new direction. A provision of ₹75 crore has been made for the construction of 250 Mahatari Sadans to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for women. These Sadans will be developed as centers for women's dialogue, training, counseling, and social support, providing a powerful platform for women in both rural and urban areas. Strengthening Nutrition and Early Education: A provision of ₹42 crore has been made for the construction of 500 new Anganwadi centers in the state. This will provide better nutrition, health services, and early education facilities to children, adolescent girls, and pregnant mothers. The government aims to make the campaign against malnutrition more effective. Financial Support for Daughters' Future: Minister Smt. Rajwade, specifically mentioning the Rani Durgavati Yojana, stated that eligible girls will be provided financial assistance of ₹1.50 lakh upon attaining 18 years of age. This assistance will prove to be an important step towards higher education, skill development, and a self-reliant life. She stated that this initiative will lay a strong foundation for the dignity and secure future of daughters. Concrete Steps Towards Social Justice and Inclusive Development: Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said, "Mahatari Gaurav Varsh is not just a celebration, but a pledge to the self-respect, rights, and empowerment of mothers and daughters. This budget reflects a commitment to social justice, equal opportunity, and sensitive governance." He expressed confidence that this budget will give Chhattisgarh a new identity at the national level in the field of women empowerment and will pave the way for positive change in the lives of millions of women and girls in the coming years.
