National Tribal Games: Hockey, football, swimming, archery and weightlifting events to be held in Raipur

Raipur. Tribal players from across the country will showcase their talent in seven sports in the Khelo India National Tribal Games being organised in Chhattisgarh. Around 3000 players from 32 states and union territories of the country will participate in it. During the event, five sports in men's and women's categories will be held in the capital Raipur and one sport each in Bastar divisional headquarters Jagdalpur and Surguja divisional headquarters Ambikapur. A total of 164 players from Chhattisgarh are participating in this, which includes 86 male and 78 female players.
Athletics competitions will be held at the Dharampura Sports Complex in Jagdalpur, and wrestling competitions at the Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur. Two traditional sports of the country, Kabaddi and Mallakhamb, have also been included as demo games in the Khelo India National Tribal Games. Kabaddi competitions will be held at the Sardar Balbir Singh Indoor Stadium in Raipur, and Mallakhamb demonstrations will be held at the Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur.
