Work to make the Assembly paperless will accelerate

Secretary of Public Works Department inspected the Assembly building.

Instructions given to build a fully equipped driver-room with adequate parking.

Also inspects the construction of the new 'Lok Bhavan'; asks officials and construction agencies to expedite the work

Raipur. Secretary of the Public Works Department, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bansal, today inspected the ongoing construction of the Lok Bhavan (Raj Bhavan) in Nava Raipur. He toured the entire complex, examining the layout and floor plan. He directed department officials and construction agencies to expedite the work. Mr. Bansal also inspected the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. He directed the Public Works Department and CHiPS to work in better coordination to expedite technical work and arrangements to make the Assembly paperless. Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, Mr. V.K. Bhatphari, Additional Secretary, Mr. S.N. Srivastava, Chief Engineer, Mr. T.R. Kunjam, Superintending Engineer, Mr. D.K. Netam, and Executive Engineer, Mr. Abhinav Srivastava were also present.

The Secretary of the Public Works Department gave instructions to construct the 'Lok Bhavan' with excellence as per the dignity of the Governor. He asked to proceed with the construction work keeping in mind the beauty, sunlight and full utility of the entire complex. He instructed to work thoroughly on all the details of the building. He asked to pre-determine the seating arrangement of the meeting halls and office rooms being constructed here for organizing programs and to carry out the work accordingly. He asked to take information about the progress of the work from the different agencies involved in the construction work of the building and complete all the work as soon as possible and hand it over to the Public Works Department.

Public Works Department Secretary Mr. Bansal conducted a thorough inspection of the new Assembly building, including the entrance, the House, the officers' gallery, the lobby, the dining area, the media briefing area, the committee rooms, the Chief Minister's office, the Assembly Speaker's office, the offices of the Deputy Chief Ministers and Ministers, the officers' lounge, and the offices of the officers of the Chief Minister's Secretariat. He directed that all office rooms be equipped with adequate furniture and seating arrangements. He also instructed officials to address the shortcomings and deficiencies in the current arrangements in the new building before the upcoming monsoon session.

The departmental secretary directed the Assembly to expedite the completion of technical arrangements to make the Assembly paperless. He also reviewed the necessary arrangements, equipment, hardware, and software with officials from the Public Works Department and CHiPs. He directed them to ensure all technical arrangements are in place by this year's winter session through better coordination and speedy action. He also directed for a fortnightly review of the progress.

Mr. Bansal directed that adequate parking arrangements for vehicles be made within the Assembly premises, along with a fully equipped driver's room. He also suggested a waiting room for visitors near the pass counter at Gate No. 3 of the Assembly building, as well as a canteen for officers and employees on Assembly duty.
