Fulfill your duties with a spirit of service, sensitivity and logical decision- Shri Deka

Raipur, July 22, 2026/ Governor Ramen Deka said that administrative service is not just a position, but an important opportunity to serve the general public. It is the responsibility of every officer to discharge this opportunity with complete devotion, sensitivity, and honesty. He said that while there are challenges, new opportunities also exist. Therefore, every situation should be approached with a positive attitude and decisions should be made in the public interest.

The Governor was interacting with trainee Deputy Collectors of the 2025 batch of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission at Lok Bhavan today. These officers are currently undergoing training at the Chhattisgarh Administrative Academy, Nimora. Led by the Academy's Director General, Mr. T.C. Mahawar, the trainee officers paid a courtesy call on the Governor.

The Governor stated that administrative decisions must incorporate human sensibilities. He told officials that a human touch is essential in every task so that the benefits of government schemes and decisions can truly reach ordinary citizens. He urged officials to regularly communicate with the public, regularly visit the area, and understand the people's problems firsthand. He urged them to prioritize any work that is feasible, and if, for some reason, a task is not possible, provide clear and transparent information to the concerned person. This strengthens people's trust in the administration.

The Governor stated that logical thinking and prudent conclusions are essential for administrative officers. Making impartial decisions based on facts is the hallmark of a competent officer. He stated that providing justice to the public is the primary duty of a public servant, and every officer should work with this spirit.
He told the trainee officers that they are young and have a significant responsibility for the future of the administration. They must strengthen good governance, transparency, and public trust through their actions. The Governor said that all of you are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve in a peaceful, prosperous, and culturally rich state like Chhattisgarh. The people here have a strong sense of service, cooperation, and affinity. Maintaining this trust and affinity while meeting the expectations of the public will be the hallmark of a successful administrative officer.
