Greek Chand Patel, a progressive farmer from Kumharpara in the tribal-dominated district, has made farming more profitable by leveraging modern agricultural techniques and government schemes. Combining traditional rice cultivation with vegetable production and the use of nano-fertilizers has significantly increased his yield and income.

Greek Chand Patel cultivates both Kharif and Rabi seasons. He receives financial assistance through his Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and other agricultural inputs. Funds from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) are also proving helpful in arranging the necessary resources for farming.

He has begun using nano-fertilizers in farming, which deliver nutrients to plants more effectively. He says that the use of nano-fertilizers has improved both crop quality and yield.

Along with cultivating rice, they also produce seasonal vegetables. Crop diversification provides them with opportunities for additional income throughout the year. By cultivating different crops according to market demand, they are continuously increasing their income. Furthermore, by prioritizing the use of organic fertilizers over chemical fertilizers, they are promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly farming.
