Raipur. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, 'Operation Sepoy Raksha-Sutra Abhiyan-2026' has been launched in Chhattisgarh to express respect, gratitude and affection towards the brave soldiers deployed on the borders of the country.

Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade appealed to the state's mothers, sisters, and children to actively participate in the campaign. She called for making it a mass movement to honor soldiers.

Send courtyard soil along with Rakhi

Minister Rajwade said that it is every citizen's moral responsibility to express respect for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the soldiers deployed day and night to protect the borders. He said that Raksha Bandhan is not only a festival of the brother-sister relationship, but also a symbol of security, trust, and emotional bonding.

Under the campaign, residents of the state can create handmade Rakhis with their own hands. Along with this, they can send a message of well-wishes to the soldiers and a pinch of sacred soil from their own courtyard. This soil will symbolize the blessings of the motherland and the affection of the people of Chhattisgarh.

The envelope must be submitted by July 30.

The Minister said that Rakhi, good wishes message and holy soil can be kept in an envelope and deposited at the nearest Anganwadi centre or the project office of the Women and Child Development Department by July 30, 2026.

All the protective gear collected during the campaign will be sent to Army Headquarters in New Delhi through the Ex-Servicemen's Association. From there, they will be distributed to soldiers deployed on various fronts across the country.

Minister Rajwade appealed to the people of the state for maximum participation in the campaign, saying that the love and support of the people of Chhattisgarh should reach the soldiers. He said that through this campaign, the state will send the message that Chhattisgarh stands firmly with the honor, security, and dignity of its soldiers.
