Jashpurnagar . The Public Works Department, responding to a news report about potholes on the Kotba-Bagbahar road, stated that the road's widening and strengthening work is progressing rapidly. The road's condition will improve significantly after completion, costing approximately ₹39.76 crore. 

According to the Public Works Department, the government has granted administrative approval of ₹39.76 crore for the widening and strengthening of the Bagbahar-Kotba road. A work order was issued to M/s Abhay Construction, Jashpur, on September 30, 2025, and the deadline for completion is October 2026. The department stated that construction is currently ongoing. Widening to the subgrade level has been completed along a 10-kilometer stretch. Granular sub-base (GSB) work has begun on the Bagbahar side, with approximately one kilometer of GSB completed. Additionally, construction of seven culverts has also been completed.

The Public Works Department has clarified that to maintain smooth traffic flow during construction, temporary repairs and filling of potholes on the existing road are being carried out continuously. According to the department, a permanent solution to the road problem will only be possible after the completion of the new road. The department stated that while it is natural to experience temporary traffic inconvenience during road construction, the construction work is being expedited for the convenience of the public. The Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Pathalgaon Division, stated that the department is continuously striving to complete the construction work within the stipulated timeframe with quality, so that the residents of the area can soon have access to better, safer, and easier road facilities.
