Jashpurnagar . TB-Free India Campaign: A review meeting was held on July 27, 2026, under the chairmanship of Collector Rohit Vyas. He directed the nodal officers for development blocks and urban bodies to ensure better implementation of the TB-Free India Campaign in the district.

The Collector has asked the nodal officers to regularly inspect the TB eradication activities in their allotted areas. He said that with the cooperation of the Health Department, the team will conduct intensive investigation and treatment and identify TB patients from house to house (Active Case Finding) and provide timely quality treatment. Special emphasis was laid on distributing nutrition kits under the Nikshay Mitra and Poshan Yojana and on involving Nikshay Mitras to increase the participation of the society.

Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. G.S. Jatra stated that it is mandatory to test 30 suspected patients per 1,000 population using a NAAT machine. The district has a total of 444 gram panchayats, and it is mandatory for all gram panchayats to work in mission mode to make them TB-free. By the District TB Nodal Officer

The main symptoms of TB were explained in detail, including cough for more than 2 weeks, blood in sputum, persistent weight loss, and fever in the evening, etc. Information was also provided to those in the high-risk group, including those over 60 years of age, diabetics, smokers, alcohol users, and other serious patients, to get themselves tested at the primary level.

He said that a deadline of December has been fixed to achieve all the health goals and TB eradication targets of the district and this information was given to all the nodal officers.

Officers from various departments including District Panchayat, Health, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Tribal Development and Education Department were present in the meeting.
