Raipur. Former Home Minister and senior BJP tribal leader Nankiram Kanwar is once again in the news. This time, he has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi, alleging irregularities in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) promotion examinations held in 2021 and 2022, and demanding an investigation by a central agency.

Nankiram Kanwar stated in the letter that examinations were conducted over two years for 42 State Tax Inspector positions, in which approximately 350 employees participated. However, departmental officials deliberately conducted the examinations themselves, without seeking the cooperation of Vyapam, and committed irregularities.

Kanwar alleged that the passing marks of the employees ranged from 80 to 100 percent, indicating that they had already received the question papers. He said that the PA of Divisional Commissioner Sameer Bishnoi and people associated with other officers were selected for the exam. He pointed out that the answer sheets were neither stamped nor signed by any official, making it easy for the answers to be changed.

Kanwar said that the then-Commissioner, Sameer Bishnoi, is currently in jail on charges of money laundering and possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. This confirms that the examination was also conducted in a corrupt manner. He demanded that the Prime Minister order an investigation by a central agency like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and if irregularities are proven, cancel the recruitment and conduct a fresh examination.
