Housing Finance announces 50% rebate in penal interest to beneficiaries

On the occasion of Independence Day, the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board presented a significant gift to its beneficiaries. At the Independence Day celebration held at the divisional headquarters in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Board Chairman Mr. Anurag Singh Deo announced a 50 percent rebate on penal interest for outstanding beneficiaries.

Properties allotted under OTS-1 and OTS-2 under Special Housing Scheme are outside the scope of this scheme.

This exemption will apply to properties allotted under construction and under construction in all of the Board's projects. However, properties allotted under OTS-1 and OTS-2 under the Special Housing Scheme will be excluded from this scheme. Eligible beneficiaries can avail of a 50 percent discount on penal interest, i.e., interest for the delayed period, by paying the entire outstanding amount of their allotted property in one lump sum.

Chairman Mr. Anurag Singh Deo stated that the Board previously offered a 50 percent rebate on penal interest for buildings constructed on a lump sum payment until March 31, 2026. This scheme received a positive response from beneficiaries. This scheme has been reinstated to maintain liquidity in the Board's funds and to allow beneficiaries to make lump sum payments.

50% discount on water surcharge

Chairman Mr. Anurag Singh Deo stated that due to many beneficiaries not paying their water charges on time, a surcharge was being levied on the outstanding amount. Beneficiaries had been repeatedly requesting a waiver of the surcharge. Keeping in mind the convenience of beneficiaries, the Board has decided to offer a 50 percent waiver on the surcharge charged on the pending water supply charges on their allotted properties. This will provide relief to beneficiaries in settling outstanding dues and they will be able to benefit from the surcharge waiver.

The Chairman stated that the Board is issuing necessary instructions to the concerned units in this regard. He appealed to beneficiaries to take advantage of this facility and promptly pay their outstanding balances in one lump sum.
