Ministry Office Bribe: Bribe of Rs 10 lakh! Ministry official arrested
New Delhi: The CBI has arrested a senior official of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on charges of bribery. The arrested official, Sandeep, is posted as Deputy Controller of Accounts and IFA and is a 2020 batch Indian Civil AccounService officer
According to the CBI, the officer is accused of demanding a bribe of ₹10 lakh in exchange for a job for the complainant. It is alleged that the officer arranged for the money to be received through his wife. The agency investigated the alleged bribe and made the arrest.
The CBI is now investigating documents and other evidence related to the bribery demand, the transactions, and the alleged role of the officer and his wife. The allegations are still subject to confirmation through investigation and judicial proceedings.
