CHHATTISGARH: Marijuana worth 2 crores seized! 400 kg of the consignment was hidden in a truck.
Gariaband: In a major operation at the Khutgaon interstate checkpoint in Gariaband, police seized 400 kilograms of marijuana from a truck. Its value is estimated to be around 2 crore rupees.
The marijuana was being transported from Odisha to Maharashtra, hidden under a black tarpaulin on the truck's roof. During the investigation, police discovered the packages, and a search revealed the entire conspiracy.
Police apprehended two men on a motorcycle piloting the truck along with two others. After questioning, a suspect who was supplying marijuana from Odisha was also arrested. A total of five suspects have been arrested.
In addition to the marijuana, an Eicher vehicle worth approximately ₹20 lakh, a bike, three mobile phones, and ₹6.50 lakh in cash were also seized. Action has been taken against all of them under the NDPS Act.
