Nepal disaster: 2 Chhattisgarh citizens still missing, 5 return safely, government intensifies relief efforts

Raipur. Following the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal, there is concern for the citizens of Chhattisgarh. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously gathering information about the citizens of the state stranded in Nepal. According to information received so far, nine citizens of Chhattisgarh have been located. Of these, five citizens from Raipur are safe and have left to return, while two women from Bilaspur and Surguja are still missing. The administration is in constant contact with the Nepal administration and central agencies to search for them.

According to the administration, contact has been established with the family of Monika Yadav, a resident of Mahadev Ghat in Raipur, who traveled to Nepal on August 22nd. The family of 65-year-old Manju Rai Chaudhary of Bilaspur, who traveled on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, has also been contacted. The administration is verifying her condition and making necessary coordination.

Meanwhile, 39-year-old Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Bilaspur, and Dr. Meena Gupta, a resident of Surguja, are still missing. Priyanka Chaudhary is a citizen of Finland, while Dr. Meena Gupta is a citizen of the United Kingdom. Dr. Meena's last known location was reported near the Rasuwagadhi immigration office on the Nepal-China border. Coordination with relevant agencies is ongoing to locate them.

Meanwhile, there is some relief that Dinesh Ojha, Prem Singh Jagat, Narayan Sen, Yatendra Prakashi, and Dinesh Singh Thakur of Raipur are completely safe. All of them had gone to Nepal on August 21st and have now left to return to Raipur.

The state government has clarified that the safety of every Chhattisgarh citizen in Nepal is a top priority. Constant coordination is underway between the district administration, the state control room, the Nepal administration, and central agencies. The government has appealed to citizens to immediately inform the administration if they have information about any Chhattisgarh resident traveling to Nepal.
