Focus on the present, keep learning and contribute to society: Governor Deka
Initiation ceremony at Sant Gobindram Shadani Girls College
Raipur . The convocation ceremony for the newly admitted girl students for the year 2026-27 at Sant Gobindram Shadani Government Arts and Commerce Girls College, Raipur, was held on Tuesday under the chief patronage of Governor Ramen Deka. On this occasion, the Governor also honored the talented girl students of the college.
Addressing the newly admitted girl students, Governor Ramen Deka said that today is the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. This chapter will not limit them to just obtaining a degree, but will prepare them as aware, empowered and sensitive citizens. He said that by stepping into this college, the girl students have become inheritors of a glorious tradition that has provided the light of knowledge and education to girls for decades.
The Governor said that life is a continuous learning process, and we remain students throughout our lives. He told the students that they are students of the internet age. Technology has opened new doors to knowledge, but complete dependence on technology is not appropriate. Much can be learned from the internet, but it cannot replace human intelligence and wisdom. Acquiring knowledge and using it wisely is essential to make life simple, meaningful, and better.
Describing the crucial role of teachers in shaping students' futures, the Governor said that their contribution is invaluable and cannot be measured in monetary terms. Teachers, through their conduct and behavior, should set an example for students, inspiring them to draw inspiration from them.
He urged students to make small, positive contributions to society. Together, these small efforts can bring about significant change.
In the programme, the Governor honoured those talented girl students of the college who brought glory to the college with their hard work, dedication and sharpness.
