Raipur. The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp and joy in the capital Raipur. Major Krishna temples in the city hosted Janmashtami celebrations, drawing large crowds of devotees. Following a 110-year-old tradition, a grand feast of 11 quintals of Malpua and 1 quintal of Panjiri was offered at the Jaitusaav Math in the old colony, while a 101-liter milk abhishek was performed in Samta Colony. Young people enthusiastically participated in the temples decorated with flowers and garlands. At the ISKCON temple, the Janmashtami celebrations began at 4 a.m. with the Mangal Aarti and darshan of Lord Krishna. Mahaprasad was also provided for devotees. A grand abhishek of Lord Krishna took place at 9 p.m., followed by a grand aarti at 12 midnight to celebrate the Lord's birth anniversary.

Golden decoration and Mahabhog at Jaitusaav Math
The birth anniversary was celebrated in a grand manner at Jaitusaav Math located in Purani Basti. The temple was crowded with devotees since morning. Bhajan singing was organised at 4 pm. On the birth anniversary, Thakurji was adorned with gold and aarti was performed with chanting of mantras at 12 midnight. Prasad will be distributed to the devotees on 5th September at 5 pm.

Abhishekam with 101 liters of milk at Radhakrishna Temple, Samta Colony

Here, the deity was anointed with 101 liters of milk from early morning. Artisans from Kolkata decorated the temple and the idol. A tableau viewing ceremony began at 9 a.m., followed by bhajans until 8 p.m., and a grand aarti after the birth anniversary celebrations at midnight. A Mangal Path of Rani Sati Dadi will also be held on September 5th.

3 day festival in ISKCON
The grand festival will continue till 5th September in ISKCON temple located at Tatibandh. In which Krishna Bal Leela, Bhajan-Kirtan, Pushpanjali, Kathak, devotional dance and competitions will be held. This year the decoration of ISKCON temple has been given a special look. On Janmashtami, the temple has been decorated with fresh flowers from outside to inside. Peacock theme has been chosen for the decoration. Decoration of peacock feathers was seen at various places in the temple premises. Lord Shri Krishna has also been decorated according to the peacock theme. This decoration done with flowers and peacock feathers remained a special centre of attraction for the devotees.

Celebrations at Dudhdhari Math continue until September 7th.
Janmashtami will be celebrated at Dudhdhari Math and its associated temples until Ekadashi on September 7th. Bhajans and kirtans began at 8 a.m. on Friday and continued until the Janmotsav Aarti at 12 midnight.

Milk Abhishek in the 156 year old Banke Bihari Temple
Milk Abhishek from 8 to 10 in the morning, Shringar Darshan at 11.30, Bhajan in the afternoon-evening and Janmotsav Aarti at 12.01 in the night took place in the 156 year old Banke Bihari Temple of Petha Line Nayapara.

Worship at the Giriraj Temple with materials from the four holy places (Char Dham).
Worship at the Giriraj Temple in Budhapara was performed using materials brought from Badrinath, Jagannathpuri, Rameshwaram, and Dwarka Dham. Preparations began a month ago.

Nand Mahotsav in Gopal Mandir:
Janmotsav was celebrated today at Gopal Mandir located in Sadar Bazaar on 4th September at 12 midnight and Nand Mahotsav will be celebrated on 5th September, in which the Lord will be rocked in the cradle.

A lively tableau was presented in the Kotwali police station's prison.
The City Kotwali also celebrated with great pomp. Artists dressed as Vasudev, Devaki, and soldiers performed. At midnight, the police station lights were turned off and the drama of Vasudev carrying Krishna in a basket on his head was enacted. Then, amid cheers, Thakurji was taken to the Gopal Temple.

Worship of Seven Brothers Along with Kanha –
The celebration began at 12 a.m. Friday night amid chants of "Nand ​​Ghar Anand Bhayo." In a unique Chhattisgarhi tradition, homes also worshipped Kanha along with his seven brothers, for which eight Child figures were painted on the walls.
