Dhamtari. Good rainfall this monsoon and adequate water filling in the reservoirs in the district have brought hope and happiness to the faces of the farmers. The district's major reservoirs, Gangrel, Madamsilli, Sondhur, and Dudhawa, along with other water sources, continue to have good water availability. As in the previous monsoon, the satisfactory condition of the reservoirs this year too has created better irrigation possibilities for Kharif crops. Due to this, farmers are hopeful for good crop production.

Last year, the district's major reservoirs were filled with sufficient water, which had a positive impact on the agricultural sector, resulting in good yields for farmers. This year, the availability of sufficient water in reservoirs during the monsoon season has created favorable conditions for agricultural activities. Along with water availability, the Agriculture Department has paid special attention to providing farmers with fertilizers, seeds, and essential agricultural inputs on time. This system of providing agricultural inputs to farmers as needed will continue.

Collector Abinash Mishra stated that special attention is being paid to the availability of water, agricultural inputs, and modern technology to strengthen the agricultural sector in the district. He said, "Adequate water in reservoirs is a great relief and a source of hope for farmers. Fertilizers and seeds for the Kharif crop have been made available on time and will continue to be made available to farmers as needed." Efforts are being made to reduce costs and increase production by connecting farmers with modern agricultural techniques. Farmers are also being provided with the facility of spraying pesticides using drone technology.

To promote the use of modern technology in agricultural work in the district, arrangements have been made for spraying pesticides through drones in 10 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies. This will allow for uniform spraying over large areas in less time. Farmers will benefit from saving time and labor, and at a relatively lower cost compared to traditional methods. The Agriculture Department is also making farmers aware of balanced fertilizer use, improved seeds, pest management, crop diversification, and scientific agricultural practices.

Farmer Harinarayan of village Dhimartikur said that this year there is enough moisture in the fields and water in the reservoirs, so the confidence regarding the crop has increased. The farming work has been done smoothly due to timely availability of fertilizers and seeds. He said that if the weather is favorable then this time too a good yield of paddy is expected.
Farmer Khimashu Gajesingh of village Selbahra said that adequate water and facilities of the Agriculture Department have made farming much easier. With the availability of modern facilities like spraying pesticides through drones, it will be possible to spray medicine in the fields in less time. This is expected to reduce both labor and cost.

The availability of water resources in the district, the timely provision of agricultural inputs, and the expansion of modern agricultural techniques have strengthened hopes for improved production this Kharif season. Farmers are hopeful that favorable weather and adequate water availability will translate into a good harvest in their fields.
