Raipur. In the capital city of Raipur, the police have arrested Vinay Maheshwari, the accused of allegedly using abusive language against Mayor Meenal Choubey in a social media video. The police have caught the accused from Devpuri area. The case is related to a social media video made regarding waterlogging and the condition of roads in the city after the rain. Questions were raised on the arrangements of the city in the video. During this, the allegation of allegedly using objectionable and abusive language against Mayor Meenal Choubey was made.

After the video went viral, the BJP councilors' group objected and filed a complaint at the Civil Lines police station. Based on the complaint, the police registered an FIR and began an investigation. During the investigation, the police examined digital evidence related to the video. Based on the technical investigation, the police obtained information about Vinay Maheshwari, after which the team raided the Devpuri area and arrested him.

Police are questioning the accused. They are also investigating the purpose for which the video was made and the various channels through which it was circulated on social media. Police have appealed to the public to use social media responsibly and not to post or share objectionable or defamatory content against anyone. Further legal action is underway in the case.
