CG PRIVATE UNIVERSITY: Governor's order, portal still missing!

Raipur. A plan to increase transparency in Chhattisgarh's private universities is now being questioned. Nearly a year after Governor Ramen Deka's directive, the proposed centralized portal for private universities has not been launched.

Sanjay Singh Thakur, president of the Chhattisgarh RTI Activist Association, has raised the question that in the meeting of Vice Chancellors on July 20, 2025, it was decided to make the necessary information of the universities available on a centralized portal, but even after almost a year, the portal has not been made public.

According to Thakur, the meeting also directed the Vice Chancellors to provide a roadmap for academic reforms within two months, ensure compliance with UGC norms and close down courses running without adequate students and teachers.

Now he has raised the demand to make public the status of compliance with these instructions.

The RTI Activist Association has demanded from the state government, Raj Bhavan and Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission that the compliance report of the Governor's instructions be made public and the proposed portal be launched soon.

Thakur says that students and parents should easily get important information like recognition of universities, courses, teachers, infrastructure and fees.

Now the question is why the portal of private universities has not been started even after almost a year of the Governor's instructions?
