Raipur. The pace of monsoon activity has slowed down in Chhattisgarh. Due to the weakening of the rain-generating weather system, the rain-bearing area in the state is continuously getting limited. In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded in some areas, while only clouds remained at many places. According to the Meteorological Department, the seasonal sub-divisional rainfall in the state has been about 3 percent less than normal. On Sunday, light to moderate rain is likely in some parts including Raipur. During this time, there may be drizzle along with thunder and lightning at some places.

One centimeter of rain was recorded at three centers. In the last 24 hours, one centimeter of rain was recorded at Lormi in Mungeli, Darima in Surguja and Kumarda in Rajnandgaon. Many other areas remained cloudy, but there was not enough rain. Talking about the temperature, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius in Jagdalpur, while the minimum temperature was 21.6 degrees Celsius in Pendra Road. On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 31 and the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius.

Due to local influence, there are chances of cloud cover and drizzle. According to weather experts, widespread rain has stopped for the time being due to weakening of the system affecting the state. However, due to local weather influence, clouds may remain in many areas including Raipur and light rain may occur at some places. A low pressure area is formed over north-west Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south-west Uttar Pradesh, along with which cyclonic circulation is also active. This system may move towards east-north-east direction in the next two days.

A new system is expected from the Bay of Bengal. Weather experts say that for widespread rainfall to return to the state, the formation of a new, strong weather system in the Bay of Bengal will be necessary. Currently, there is no effective system capable of intensifying monsoon activity across Chhattisgarh. Consequently, rainfall is likely to remain limited to a few areas in the coming days.
