Raigarh. Raigarh district has taken a significant step towards expanding sanitation facilities in rural areas and providing safe and dignified toilet facilities to every eligible family. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), under the direction of Collector Mayank Chaturvedi and the guidance of Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Abhijeet Baban Pathare, an amount of ₹299.40 lakh has been approved for the construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) in the homes of 2,495 eligible rural families in the district.
Under the scheme, 394 families from Janpad Panchayat Tamnar, 357 from Kharsia, 45 from Gharghora, 748 from Pusaur, and 951 from Dharamjaigarh will benefit from the construction of individual household toilets. A total of 2,495 eligible families in the district will benefit from the scheme. This will provide rural families with safe and hygienic toilet facilities at home and further strengthen efforts to eliminate open defecation.
Toilet construction in the homes of approved beneficiaries will be carried out in accordance with prescribed standards and quality standards. After completion of the construction work, the process of geo-tagging and necessary verification of toilets will be completed. After verification, incentive amount will be paid through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries as per rules.
The Collector has laid special emphasis on effective, quality and timely implementation of sanitation related schemes in the district. At the same time, the Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat has given instructions to the concerned Janpad Panchayats to expedite the approved works, ensure timely benefits of the scheme to eligible beneficiaries and pay special attention to the quality of construction works.

is not limited to the construction of toilets alone; it is a significant effort to bring positive change to the health, hygiene, dignity, and quality of life of rural families. The availability of toilet facilities in every home will provide a particularly safe and comfortable environment for women, children, and the elderly . The provision of toilet facilities to 2,495 families in the district will provide new impetus to the creation of clean and healthy villages. It will also prove to be an important step towards the goal of a clean, beautiful, and ODF-plus Raigarh. The district administration is committed to ensuring that the benefits of the government's public welfare schemes reach every eligible family in a transparent and timely manner, and to making cleanliness a permanent and integral part of rural life.
