Appeal to be cautious of those spreading misinformation about development in Bastar, Chief Minister said – the wishes and interests of the local people are paramount

Raipur, September 2026 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has stated that the direction of Bastar's development will be determined by the aspirations and expectations of its people. The people of Bastar need not be under any illusions. The government is promoting livelihood and development opportunities in the region, including agriculture, tourism, and animal husbandry, in accordance with local potential. The government will move forward in the direction of development desired by the people of Bastar.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while answering various questions in an interview given to a private news channel, spoke in detail on various topics including development of Bastar, decisive success against Naxalism and women empowerment.

Responding to a question regarding Bastar, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that for decades, Bastar lagged behind mainstream development due to Naxalism. Today, when the fight against Naxalism has reached a decisive stage and a new environment of peace and development has emerged in the region, some people are attempting to spread the misconception among the people of Bastar that the government's objective behind eliminating Naxalism is to pave the way for large industries. The Chief Minister categorically rejected this, stating that this is not the case at all. Bastar's future will be determined by the aspirations and desires of its people.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that those who never stood with the fight against Naxalism or directly or indirectly supported it are now trying to create confusion among the people through a new narrative. The people of Bastar are aware and understand such misleading efforts well. Our government's objective is to bring prosperity to the lives of the people of Bastar by advancing the natural, cultural, and economic potential of Bastar.

He said that the government is continuously working to strengthen agriculture, promote animal husbandry, and transform the immense tourism potential in Bastar into opportunities. With peace established, development is now reaching remote areas, and new opportunities for education, employment, and self-employment are emerging for local youth. Our endeavor is to ensure that Bastar reaches new heights of development while preserving its unique identity and rich culture.

It is my greatest privilege to have sisters call me 'brother'.

During the interview, in response to a question about the state's sisters calling him "Vishnu Bhaiya" and their close connection to the Chief Minister, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state's sisters call him "Bhaiya" and consider him a member of their family. What greater privilege could there be for him than this? The affection and blessings he receives from his sisters continually inspire him to serve the people.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that as a brother, it is his commitment to serve, protect, and bring prosperity to the sisters of the state. The government is continuously working to empower women economically and self-sufficiently, as well as to ensure their dignity, self-respect, and security. He said that our endeavor is to ensure that every sister in the state has ample opportunities to advance and confidently play an important role in the progress of her family and Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister said that the trust and affection of the people is his greatest strength. The interests of the people of Chhattisgarh are at the heart of every policy and decision of the government.

From the development of Bastar to the empowerment of mothers and sisters, the government's resolve is clear - development should be such that there is public participation, local aspirations are respected and its benefits reach the last person.
