Raipur. Family and party politics are once again in the news in Chhattisgarh. Dhal Das, the elder brother of Minister Khushwant Sahib and the eldest son of Guru Baldas, a prominent religious leader of the Satnami community, has joined the Congress party.
He joined the Congress party at a ceremony held at the residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur. Baghel welcomed Dhal Das into the party by presenting him with a Congress scarf.
Dhal Das's entry into the Congress party has sparked heated discussions in the state's politics, not only because of his political background but also because of his social connections.
Guru Baldas is considered influential in the Satnami community, while his younger brother, Khushwant Sahib, is currently a minister in the BJP government. Therefore, the senior member of the family joining the Congress party is considered a politically significant development.
