Action taken against GT Design Studio, Raipur after technical flaws in the design of the convention hall
Instructions to terminate the contract of the firm in various schemes, no work will be given in future

Raipur, September 2026. The Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board has taken a major action against the architectural firm GT Design Studio, Raipur, taking a strict stance on technical quality, design accuracy, and safety standards in construction projects. After finding flaws in the detailed design and deficiencies in the technical proposal for a convention hall built in Korba district, the board has directed action to terminate the firm's contract for its current work.
In this case, the Board issued a show-cause notice to the concerned firm, seeking clarification. The Additional Commissioner examined the firm's compliance report and explanation, which were found to be unsatisfactory. Following this, the Board has issued instructions to terminate the firm's contract under the relevant schemes, as per the rules.
Action to terminate contracts in four schemes
As per the Board's instructions, action will be taken to terminate contracts for projects currently being executed by GT Design Studio, Raipur, under various divisions. These include the Redevelopment Scheme, Kailash Nagar, Rajnandgaon; the Redevelopment Scheme, Ramanujganj, Balrampur District; the Housing Scheme, Kabir Nagar Phase-02 (05 acres of land); and the Atal Vihar Scheme, Bandhi, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi District.
The Executive Engineers of the respective projects have been directed to ensure that the contract is terminated in accordance with the rules by notifying the firm in writing. Following the contract termination, the firm will not undertake any further work on these projects. Furthermore, as per the rules, no claim settlements will be processed.
Board's clear message on quality and safety
The Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board recently held a meeting with architects and issued instructions to prioritize technical quality, design accuracy, and adherence to safety standards in construction projects. It was also clarified at the meeting that if design errors are found in construction projects, the relevant architect firm will be held accountable and strict action will be taken as per the rules.

Board Chairman Mr. Anurag Singh Deo said that the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board's schemes are directly linked to the interests of ordinary citizens. The Board's top priority is to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with prescribed technical standards in these schemes.
He stated that from the beginning of construction to its completion, no compromise will be accepted on design, technical standards, and quality. Architectural firms and related technical agencies must discharge their responsibilities with utmost seriousness and expertise. If negligence is found at the design or technical level, the concerned firm will be held accountable and strict action will be taken as per the rules.

Divisional Commissioner Mr. Avnish Kumar Sharan stated that any negligence in the quality, technical accuracy, and adherence to safety standards of construction work will not be tolerated. The designs and technical proposals prepared by the architect are crucial to the quality and safety of construction work.
