16.03 crore approved for 4 irrigation schemes in Raipur and Gariaband districts.

Hundreds of hectares of area will get water

Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government's Water Resources Department has issued administrative approval of ₹16.03 lakh (163.38 lakh) for four major irrigation schemes in Raipur and Gariaband districts to provide better irrigation facilities to farmers. This approval was granted by the Water Resources Department Ministry (Mahanadi Bhawan) to the Chief Engineer, Mahanadi Godavari Basin, Water Resources Department, Raipur.

With the approved amount, the work of lining, repair and restoration of canals will be done, which will improve water management in the area and will boost agricultural production. Among the approved schemes, Rs 4 crore 99 lakh 15 thousand has been approved for Gujra Diversion Scheme (Raipur), with this approved amount, after completion of canal lining and restoration work, irrigation facility will be provided to 141 hectare area. Similarly, with the approved amount of Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 50 thousand for Patora Diversion Scheme (Gariaband), 84.27 hectare agricultural land will get the benefit of irrigation water from the top renovation and canal lining work.

Rs 4 crore 66 lakh has been approved for Ganiyari Reservoir Scheme (Gariaband). With this approved amount, the work of renovation, repair of waste wear, remodeling of main canal and cement concrete lining will be done. This will develop irrigation capacity in 144 hectare area. Rs 4 crore 35 lakh 73 thousand has been approved for Thakurdev Reservoir Scheme (Gariaband). With this approved amount, the work of renovation, repair and lining of the head, main canal and branch canals will be done, due to this 80 hectare area will get the benefit of irrigation facility.
