Dhamtari. Due to continuous rainfall, water levels in the district's major reservoirs are rising rapidly. By 9 pm on September 12th, the Murumsilli reservoir was completely filled, while Gangrel was 97.16 percent full, Dudhawa 94.55 percent full, and Sondur 75.87 percent full. The inflow into Gangrel has reached 34,282 cusecs, and approximately the same amount is being released to maintain the water level. Through the Rudri Barrage, 5,000 cusecs of water is being released into the Mahanadi Main Canal and 29,282 cusecs into the Mahanadi. The administration stated that the release may be increased if rainfall and inflows increase. Meanwhile, 2,567 cusecs of water is reaching Murumsilli, 3,040 cusecs in Dudhawa, and 2,307 cusecs in Sondur. In view of the continuously increasing inflow, surveillance has been increased in the low-lying areas and villages situated on the river banks.

Due to the large amount of water released into the Mahanadi River, the river's water level and flow are expected to increase. In view of this, the administration has appealed to people living along the river banks to exercise caution and has instructed field staff to constantly monitor the situation. People have been asked to avoid going near rivers, streams, and waterlogged areas, not to cross fast-flowing water, and to keep children and the elderly away from such areas. In case of a flood or waterlogging situation, people have been advised to move to safe and higher places designated by the administration. Officials have appealed to the public not to believe rumors and to follow the administration's instructions in case of an emergency.
